Friend who works at O2 says the 3gs 16 and 32 will become obsolete and it will just leave the 3gs 8gb available didnt even know there was one. Rumours rumours eh!! She reckons the 4g will be £89 up front with a £35 tarriff monthly suppose we will have to see now.

They are charging £420 for an 8GB 3GS on the apple website, and £500 for a 16GB Iphone 4. 500/24=20 and 20 for a tariff, so the cheapest it will be free is on a tariff of £40 on a 24 month contract.

is anyone else gobsmacked that they are charging £25 for an elastic band calling it a "bumper".

I use apps every day, quite alot including facebook etc - when I checked last months usage id used under 87mb.

Its safe to say your friend is talking rubbish! The 3G will be stopped - as it doesnt hold the new software update.

They will still sell the 16gb, 32gb 3GS.

Id be delighted if they offer the new Iphone 4 at that price - my 3GS is being sold this weekend before the value plummets.

Popped into the apple shop in Solihull at the weekend, and the guy also said that the 16gb and 32gb will stop and only the 3gs 8gb will be available....So maybe its not a load of old tosh!

Anybody noticed that Orange dont seem to be offering a £45 per month 24th contract on the 16gb anymore and the prices have shot upto £51?

Perhaps then they will completely stop the 3G & stop bigger versions of 3GS, to try and push people onto Iphone 4

You can't buy the 16gb 3GS on the apple store either anymore, only the new 8GB model, which they are charging the same price as a 16gb 3gs for ! £420.00

Sounds like you are talking rubbish - the new models are:

    8 gig iphone 3GS
    16 gig iphone 4
    32 gig iphone 4

the 16 and 32gb 3GS are being phased out so won't be sold after current stocks run out.
  • Why would they phase out the 16 and 32gs and replace it with an 8gs?!! I want to buy the 32gs when prices fall. Is it just a ploy to make us all fork out for the iphone 4?:(

Because there are new iphone 4 16gig and 32 gig models.

The old 16 and 32 gig 3gs have been discounted by 50 quid, don't expect them to get much cheaper than that.
