I have an N95 8gb and is only just out of contract. I was going to ring O2 retentions to see the best deal I could get for the 3GS. I was holding out for the 4G but I won't be able to afford it.

Should I wait to speak to retentions when the prices for the 4G are advertised?

Realisitcally, will I get the 16gb 3GS phone for free (I don't mind a referbushided model) and pay around £35 pm? or am I way off the mark. I only use about 300 talk mins and 500 texts.

Ideally I only want 18m contract if I can.

    thanks

The cheapest you can get it free is £40 on 24 month, and £45 on 18. If you go through retentions they might give it to you free on a cheaper tariff.
  • Hi,

my friend has 3gs the 2 things she doesn't like are the fact that you can't bluetooth as normal and the camera is rubbish in low light as there's no flash- we went out the other night and I had to use my nokia n95 8gb to take a photo and then message it to her, so it cost me!:o

What do you mean you can't blue tooth as normal?

You can't file transfer on an Iphone, i.e send pictures or music files etc via bluetooth to other mobile phones.

If you consider that the Simplicity tariff offers 300 mins & unlimited texts/web for £15, that means you are paying £20 per month for the iPhone. In other words, they want to charge you £360 for the phone and lock you in to that contract for 18 months.

I can't say that this is the best deal you could get.....

"Iphone Virgin" here, just wanting to know if you can see how many mb of data you have used due to the new 500mb cap on some networks now?

I was offered the exact same deal, equally as tempted. May get an even better offer when the prices of the 4g are released though. Here's hoping!

erm... very good point Oscar. When you consider you can buy the 16gb 4g direct from Apple (sim free) for £500 it's probably not the best offer in the world. cheers
