Apparently Vodafone prices for new iPhone 4 have been "revealed a day early"...

    Link

    mobile.engadget.com/2010/06/14/vodafone-uk-details-iphone-4-plans-a-little-early-we-keep-the-s/

    £30 a month, plus £149 for 16gb iPhone 4 (300 mins + Unlimited texts + 1GB Data)

If thats the case I feel so sorry for the people who recently bought the current Iphone 3GS for the same price

You can't file transfer on an Iphone, i.e send pictures or music files etc via bluetooth to other mobile phones.
You can if you can be bothered to take 30 seconds and jailbreak

thx you beat me too it :)

or to your laptop well i'm guessing you can if it's apple?

I can't remember if you can do it with the Macbook, I don't think you can. Wait its coming back to me. NO! you can't:D

I have to give it to Apple they are a marketing machine. They repackage what they are essentially already selling, increase the price and people run out and buy it.

If you look at it objectively. Its not going to do anything it didn't do last time (ok you can say its got a better screen and camera) but is that worth £500 ?

I am off the Iphone bandwagon from now on.

Apple decide what you can and cant do with your Iphone. When you jailbreak it you remove the restriction and you can put unauthorised software on the phone, usually for free.

It can damage the phone if you dont know what you are doing, although its been a refined process these days and is fairly automated by software.

I think it voids your warranty if something goes wrong though.

Yep nearly all correct, the latest jailbreak takes seconds and does not damage in any way, if you need to you can do a total factory restore which removes all trace of the jailbreak but be aware if your phone packs up and you cant restore then your warranty is gone mind you there are ways of wiping the memory but that is a little too complex for here easier to run over it and claim on houshold insurance.

Are you suggesting people commit fraud? Not a good idea really.

Just rang carphone warehouse to be told that the 3sg 32gb price has come down to £89 plus £35 a month for 600 min unlimited texts and unlimited data on O2. 16gb still the same as above not come down as yet. He said the prices would unlikely change now and price plans for the 4g will not come out till 24th June although he said they have been told that the outlay would probably be £299 for the 32Gb and £160 for 16gb then £35 pound a month but limited data.
Now is it worth waiting to see if the 3gs 16gb comes down to being free or just go for the 32gb??????????????????

It's a known fact the iPhone insurance claims go up by as much as 50% in the months after a new iPhone comes out.

The networks are aware of this and all claims will be looked into and quite a few will be disallowed. . .

Only an idiot would do that though, the last part of my post was mainly in jest, lets face it phones are now a disposable unit, one good thing about apple products is they retain a decent price for resale after a year whereas rivals such as desire will go for peanuts in a years time, the way I look at it is I buy an iphone now and if I can sell it in 12 months for 75% then its a bonus as I change every 9 to 12 months anyway, go look on amazon 2nd hand 3gs non locked decent nick is still pulling £450. As for jailbreaking, you take your choice, for those who hate itunes there are several alternatives most allow drag and drop.
