I don't understand why you would want bolt ons on a iPhone tariff?
The bolt ons that are worth getting are:
internet data bolt on (included on iphone tariff)
international travel bolt on )not included but only worth it if you travel month after month)
The free texts and free minutes are included in the tariff you choose.0 -
I had a bit of a brainwave last night and realised that being with Virgin for phone, TV and internet meant that they were likely to give us a good deal on a mobile too - doh! I've just called and they agreed with no argument to the HTC Desire, 24 month contract (and we can upgrade earlier if we stay with them), no phone charge, unlimited internet and texts and 600 minutes (free calls to other Virgin mobiles).
I agreed that I'll call o2 tonight (if my wife agrees!) and Lucy from Virgin will call back at 1 tomorrow to go through the contract.
p.s. I wonder if actually canceling the contract with o2 rather than just threatening to will suddenly make them change their minds...0 -

Actually for for me personally they are very worthwhile. It takes the standard tariff up from 600 minutes to 800 minutes. My current usage is around 500 mins a month but a good 350 of those to other 02 mobiles. I will then be using the phone more, as we are about to move into our semi complete new build.
In nines months time, I will not be using the phone minutes as much, so will be able to drop down a tariff or two and still have enough minutes covered by the two three bolt ons !!!!0 -
Well, after being fobbed off earlier in the week, rang O2 retentions this morning to be told they did have a refurb offer not long been on their systems (taken with a pinch of salt usually, but with the refurb stock going in and out like we've seen, who knows).
Got a refurb 16gb 3GS for Free, with an 18 month £30 contract (phone would normally be £179 on that tariff), discounted to £28 for the first 12 months, with the 100 cross network minutes upgraded to 300.
Maybe not an incredible deal, but it represents only a slight monthly cost increase for me and the phone I wanted for free, so I didn't see much gain in haggling further.0 -
GUYS THE "REBOXED" iPHONES ARE IN STOCK!!!!!!!!!!
I got the following deal;
Free black 16GB 3GS
300mins
unlimited text

£25 per month
24month contact
I am very happy. I got what I wanted!

Excellent stuff. You seem to have a knack Philip!
I strongly suspect that when I call tonight I'll get offered a similar deal. Even then I don't think I'd want a soon to be replaced 3GS over a HTC Desire. Hmm...0 -
Does anybody know if an 02 contract sim card work right from the off (without problems) in a brand new tescomobile PAYG Iphone 3Gs?
Thanks all.0 -
Well i just phoned O2 and only got offered :-
Free 16GB 3GS refurb
300 Mins
Unlimited Text
Unlimited data and wifi
£35.00 per month on 18mnth contract or £30.00 per month on 24mnth contract.
I did not really want to do any more than 18 months and was looking to pay a max of £30, but they would not budge !
So really the offer i got is not as good as the others on here.........very unhappy0 -
Don't seem to be in stock any more0

Jugs, I phoned them as well and got the same offer as you! Not particularly impressed at all, and they really wouldn't budge on it. She said about having only a certain amount of money on my account that they could spend on me. Am going to call again in a little while, see if I get a different advisor.
