I'd want the 3GS personally, it will be worth way more than the 3G second hand when you come to sell it on, it's faster and has a lot more functionality so it should suit you for longer. My brand new Tesco 3GS is going to cost me the equivalent of £27 a month for two years if I go onto O2 SIMplicity after one year, and that is with no loyalty or goodwill.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0

i know but to change it was a big hassle, they said i had to send my handset back NOW and revert back to my simplicity until the 3gs is in stock which is someime withing the next month... and then it would be down to what deals were available at the time. She couldnt guarantee a phone withing next week or so and i would be without a phone. Too much hassle ....

Write a formal letter of complaint and maybe mention you have posted on MSE which is a very high traffic site! You agreed a verbal contract for a 3GS, arguably they need to give you a 3GS even if that means giving you a brand new one. Phone operatives are not authorised to make big gestures in most companies - it is their job to make you feel like a rubbish deal is better than the alternative - you need the complaints team. You might not get exactly what you want but even if you get to keep the 3G until the 3GS refurbs are back in stock you are better off than now.

no she didnt, she said they may be in this month but couldnt guarantee it, and the best thing to do was revert to simplicity and use my old phone as they HAD to have the 3g back within the 14 day period. I thought if i did that i would be offered a rubbish deal IF the 3gs came in...
ill write to them via website and mention MSE and possible telecom ombudsman and trading standards ?

I've read conflicting reports about O2 sim cards working in Tesco phones. Has anyone purchased an iPhone recently from Tesco and is using an O2 sim in it please? I'm wondering if I'll be able to unlock the phone via the O2 website using a simplicity sim (as I have done with my existing O2 iPhone)? I don't know how sophisticated the system is but it may be that O2 would need to recognise the phone as one of its own of course so it may not be possible.
Any experience of anyone having done this would be greatly appreciated.0 -

Sorry for a 3G this is not good, you have been treated poorly, and should escalate this... Use the complaintsreviewservice email and you will get a lot more!0 -

I too have been waiting and waiting in the land of promise and although haven't received a phone, are still getting awful service from 02. On your advice I sent an email 3/4days ago ......so will be interested to see how they respond !0 -
Folks can somebody just confirm it wouldn't be a problem to buy a PAYG iphone from Tesco, £450 then take out the current "£15 per month gets you 500 minutes and unlimited texts and data" on Tesco Mobile
there's no minimum term contract for this but over the course of 12 months it would only cost £450 + £180 = £630.
Also as it's a PAYG iphone does that mean it can be unlocked at anytime or does it have to remain on Tesco for 12 months?
To be honest it's the first scenario that i'm interested in just can't see what's wrong with it (just looks too good to be correct)0 -

Give it a week or so then you will probably need to chase on the phone, it seems that the complaints department are very busy at the moment!0
