The 8GB is the older 3G model, not the newer 3GS (16/32GB)...I don't think you've got good offers...

    Neither do I - cheeky s0ds!

i'm seriously considering cancelling with Orange and moving to O2 for

600mins, ultd texts, data, wi-fi for £40pm and £89 16gb 3Gs handset. Are there any deals around to beat this.?

I will have to pay £56 to get out of Oragne contract if i leave now so would it be better to wait til June when contract is up and hope deals have refreshed by then? Maybe the new iphone model is out then too?
    I'm very impatient :o

Does anyone know about the £200 cashback (on £25-40 O2 Simplicity) offer with TopCashBack? specifically what they mean when they say "new customer not upgrade". Some people seem to be saying as long as you apply for this new contract and do not ask to keep your number, you are classed as a new customer. However, during checkout it asks for your existing O2 mobile number to assess credit/risk. Do you think there's a chance you can keep your number and be classed as a new customer on the basis that it is a new contract and not an upgrade? Thanks to anyone that has any info whatsoever. 02 don't seem to know about the topcashback offer.

if you keep your number then theres no way you are a new customer
asking for an existing account isnt unusual
i usually have at least 2 contracts on the go and enter my orange account number for credit but get a new separate account
  • Hello folks, 1st post so be gentle!

My current vodafone contract is about to expire and i'm looking at getting a 16 GS iphone to replace my dating Sony Eriksson C902.

    Been looking at the
    a: 18 month 300 mins 3000 txts Phone £149
    b: 18 month 600 mins 3000 text Phone £89

Can anyone advice if its possible, as my contract is due in the next week or so , to get a better deal for the said item. These are the prices off the vodafone web site - i wondered if anyone knows if theres a way, though vodafone, that can get these deals at cheaper price than listed on the web. (I heard about requesting puk number to possibly get a better deal offered??)

I would prefer to stay on vodafone as this is the best signal in the Lincs area by a long way, other can be a bit ropey at times.

    Thanks in advance.

You won't get a deal on an iPhone with any network - if you read the thread Apple set the prices - more so because you are still in contract!! Have you read the iPhone article this thread is supposed to be discussing? Will tell you clearly which networks are the cheapest for iPhone contracts:

If I was still in contract I would definitely wait for the new iPhone and new prices; I only jumped ship from Orange this week as I was out of contract on a really rubbish deal. That £56 you could waste on getting out of your contract will buy you some really gorgeous accessories for your new iPhone. Or less interestingly pay for the insurance you will need!

If you read back through this thread, no network is cutting a retentions deal for iPhone. Best deals here:

Just had a quick look on the orange site at the new plans ( not the iPhone ones :) )
They seem quite good too me..
Now I was going to go for a 24 month anyway probably and heres when I compare the new orange panther 35 24m plan with websave ( and friends and family discount)
    21 x 24 = 504
Sell the Free SE Satio = £150 in my pocket..
Sell my iPhone 2g = £100 in my pocket..
Take that off the original contract price and you have £254
Then add the price of a iPhone 3gs PAYG on orange - £450 = £704

For all that you get 600 min, ultd texts and internet, and it comes with 50 pictures messages

Now compare that with the iPhone £35 pm tarriff ( I need unlimited texts)
    28 x 24 = £672
Add £89 on = £761 then - £100 for my current phone and it comes out as £661 in total..
    Now I'm stuck :p
    Which should I go for!

Dont know if this has been mentioned but Tesco has released new tarriffs in my local store. They didnt have the price list, so this is from memory.

They are still doing the £20 a month deal for 12 months and have now introduced a £35 a month deal which is 750 mins and unlimited data and texts. Think the iphnoe 3g was £100 and the 3gs 160...really cant remember as that deal didnt interest me. The one that I thought might interest people is the reduced rate for the old £60 unlimited tarrif. Its now £45 for unlimited everything and the smaller 3gs is free, although this is a 24 month tarriff.

Worth checking out. As people say though with rumoured new model coming out it depends on whether you want the overhyped latest greatest or the perfectly good 3gs or 3g.

Edit: Found the link with the new tarriffs http://direct.tesco.com/p/inc/specials/iphone/iphone2.asp

hey everyone, just an update, after my carryings on with 02 and this iphone, i have so kicked their butts just now.. ive ended up being given a 3g 16gb in white instead of 3gs in black, wrong tariff loosing 300 mins blah blah... no one returned my calls, until i mentioned the telecom ombudsman .... and i got a call.....

initially she tried to con me into sending my 3g back and wait for the 3s to come in .... yer rite ...

in the end she said i can offer you:

    £20 good will
    600 mins
    unlimited text
    unlimited wifi int data

    for 18 months at £28

is this good or what? im happy
