  • Just got off the phone with retentions and was told no 3gs refurbs in stock only 3g 8 and 16GB.

He also said they were going on the guidelines that the 4G will be out June time so I just downgraded my contract to £20 rolling month, 600 minutes, unlimited texts and internet on my existing handset until the 4G comes out.

    Saves me £5pm anyway.

Indeed, got same blurb this morn, although they never mentioned the 4g part! But working in the electronics industry, the rumour mill fired up today... might be worth waiting...
:exclamatiTo the internet.. I need to complain about something!

    1. Fair Usage Policy
Cheers for that, but it doesn't mention the actual usage. I wanted to know like will it be 1gb of data? less or more?

Tesco iphone wont be unlocked. You can only do that after the first 12 months but reading through these threads I gather that you can use o2 sim cards in Tesco mobiles and vice versa as Tesco use the o2 network. Let me know how you get on as I am also thinking of getting an iphone from Tesco.

got a response from Tesco. It appears you have to unlock a tesco phone to use an 02 sim.

Maybe the other posts were refering to other mobiles not iphones. Sorry:p

I am going to be getting my iphone from tesco as well but dont know whether to go instore or do it over the phone. How come you were there for that length of time?

They have to activate the iPhone in store, set up iTunes (login and password), set up Tesco Mobile (login and password), took payment (twice as the first one got messed up by IT), scanned my contract into the system as they are paperless, rang through to activate my PAC code, then gave me a brief tutorial ... I talk too much so that probably slowed us down. :p You could possibly start the process and do your grocery shop while waiting?

I was losing the will to live by the end but the lads were lovely, it was nice there was no rush, I prefer to walk out with a phone and they said I could come back with any problems. :D Do you have any Clubcard conditional spend vouchers? I used a £5 one on the iPhone which I assume you can only do in person. Not sure if you would get your Clubcard points either (680)??

BTW I adore my new iPhone. :blushing:

yeh,ive just discovered that, i rang them and they couldnt budge, gone with this anyway.

i just checked the Orange site and i wouldnt be getting an Iphone at their prices
my OH wants one (both phones under my orange account) but with those prices they may lose at least one contract to another carrier
the tesco £45 month deal would be good if it wasnt 24 months
i think the £35 and paying for the phone is a better deal @ 12 months

you can buy 10mb bolt on for £20 foreign use, that should be more than enough to cover satnav usage. Otherwise its £6 per MB so will cost a fortune.

    http://www.o2international.co.uk/standardrate_and_data.aspx

I doubt 10MB will even start to be enough for a Satnav bearing in mind that the data will constantly be being sent to the phone. The person asking about using a phone overseas should be very careful, they could end up with a bill for thousands.
