hold on,you are required to input your itunes details into the Tesco PC?

I set it all up whilst there and then changed my password when I got home, but you could obviously have already set up iTunes before you go. Think it was something to do with setting up the phone, sorry I didn't pay that much attention at the time. :o I had to put all my bank details in but obviously the staff took all that anyway for direct debit so if they wanted to scam me .... I assume the actual Tesco PC is pretty secure. The member of staff always turned his back when I set up passwords same as they do for a PIN.

The Tesco guy did explain to me what he was doing at the time, I just wasn't really paying attention. :o Might have been putting the operating system on or upgrading it?

ETA: it appears I now have two computers authorised to access my iTunes library, and only seem to be able to deauthorise the computer I am on or deauthorise all computers once I reach five. Have e-mailed Apple and will post again if anyone else wants to hear the response.

Hey you wouldnt happen to know their fair usage policy on the unlimited internet thing? Like the limit they have, less than1gb?

Also which colour did you get :p

I got black: wasn't offered white and wouldn't want it anyway, puts me in mind of white cars and white shoes which in turn make me think of chavs/ casuals ... No idea what the fair usage limit is, it's 500MB for some of the Tesco pay monthly tariffs. The iPhone connects automatically to the WifFi when I am home so it's not really an issue for me.

They have to activate the iPhone in store, set up iTunes (login and password), set up Tesco Mobile (login and password), took payment (twice as the first one got messed up by IT), scanned my contract into the system as they are paperless, rang through to activate my PAC code, then gave me a brief tutorial ... I talk too much so that probably slowed us down. :p You could possibly start the process and do your grocery shop while waiting?

I was losing the will to live by the end but the lads were lovely, it was nice there was no rush, I prefer to walk out with a phone and they said I could come back with any problems. :D Do you have any Clubcard conditional spend vouchers? I used a £5 one on the iPhone which I assume you can only do in person. Not sure if you would get your Clubcard points either (680)??

BTW I adore my new iPhone. :blushing:

Thanks for the info. I am like you and would prefer to pick the phone up but I already have itunes installed at home as my son has an ipod touch so I hope that I dont have to go through all that fiff and faff.:rotfl:

the rumours of the 4g coming out in the summer....isnt this phone going to be pretty useless without a 4g signal? I understand it will work on the 3g network but will you have to wait til the UK becomes 4g before you can use the full potential of this phone?

I don't think they would release a phone without the full potential use of 4G, but I can't see anything changing very soon

Well, the iphone "4G" is just a name everyone is giving it, it doesn't necessarily mean it's actually a 4G phone. A lot of people are referencing the "4G" part as "4th Generation" (iPhone, iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS..)

Also we do get 4G coverage in blighty, check the map here shows the coverage in the form of purple.

Back on track, so far the rumour of the "iphone 4G", could actually be named the "iPhone HD" (again this is all rumours and conjecture, so take everything with a pinch of salt).

    Chimp :D
:exclamatiTo the internet.. I need to complain about something!
