Just got offered a 16GB white 3GS for free at either £33 - 300 mins or £40 for 600 mins (18m contract with unl. txt/data).

Cheaper than anywhere else, but was after more of a discount on the line rental. They wouldn't budge on that, so will be interesting to see if anyone can get them down further.

Just rung 02 and was told that refurbs are only available online, there is noone there that was able to offer refurbs on the phone and she has no idea who has told me otherwise!
How frustrating, could someone give me a number that I can ring so that I can talk to someone who know what they are talking about please.

No joy as my contract is not up until November. They wanted to charge me £130 to end early (£20 a month contract but £15 loyalty discount so only paying £5 per month) even with a bit of discount. Offered a refurb Iphone at £89!!

So not viable at the moment - I've got to wait for a few more months til my contract settlement is smaller. Or I could just get an iphone from somebody else and a new number ????

dial 202 from your o2 handset, then select option 2, and option 2 again (Thinking of leaving). This takes you to retentions - the only dept that can do these deals

Which is pretty incredible considering the phone will sell for around £500 on ebay making the tarriff less than £6 a month!!

I had never considered this method as a means of obtaining a cheaper monthly tariff - great idea!

I am thinking of getting an iPhone, but I think I'll wait a little longer to see if they'll bring out the iPhone 4G, I dont want to get the iPhone 3GS and then a few months later they bring out the iPhone 4G. I'll end up getting it on Pay As You Go though, as I and contracts do not mix.

I have just spoken to an amazingly helpful Mark at o2 and have secured a refurb 16gb black 3gs with 100 anytime mins, unlimited texts, wifi and internet, all for £28 pm. I was offered it for £23 for 24 months but didn't want to be tied in for so long.

I am very happy with this deal as I rarely make calls, and my contract with o2 has only been a monthly renewable Simplicity at £15 pm, so I'm hardly a big spender with them!
