Tinkerbell-so you still in your contract-just upgrading early like me as a gold customer and you got a deal-why are o2 telling me i wont get a deal if am still in contract?...when i phoned up and asked to get put through to retentions they said why? i told them i was calling up to get a good deal bla bla bla and she was like...thats impossosble your got getting offered a deal as youve got 3 months left of your contract....
so i shouldn't give in...feel gutted as got loads of iphone stuff for xmas and it just be a waste if i couldnt secure a deal i can afford being a student nurse!
Lousia2010 - Yip, they allowed me to upgrade early. I didn't think they would, but I phoned up just out of curiousity. The girl in Retentions was lovely. I just asked for a quote for paying off the rest of my contract, and she told me that if I wanted an iPhone, I could end my contract early with no charge. I've been with o2 Pay Monthly for about 4 years, but left o2 Online when I was due for my last upgrade and moved to the Carphone Warehouse, so don't think they've given me my deal because of customer loyalty! I'm not a Gold Customer. Think I'm on Silver. Possibly. Don't give into them!
Has anyone been able to get through today? My boyfriend's been trying because he wants to upgrade to an iPhone as well. His contract ended last November, and he didn't reduce to Simplicity (I gave up long ago trying to get him to do so), so will be interesting to see what deal he gets offered. He phoned twice. First time spent 15 minutes 'in a queue', second time it was ten. He's now given up. Goodness knows how long it'll be before I talk him into giving it another shot!"Some people want it to happen, some wish it would happen, others make it happen."0 -
Hi there, first post on here so be gentle!! I phoned 02 today (was held in a queue for 45 mins!) regarding upgrading to an IPhone. I've got 3 months to go until I'm due for upgrade. I was offered refurbished 16g 3G black, 600mins, 500 txts and unlimited internet for £35 per month minus £5 discount for loyalty over 18 months - coming tomorrow! I thought this was a good deal. Any thoughts?0

Ifit was the 3gs it may have been a good deal, but there are many who have got much better deals TBF.0 -

Well - to be honest, you've not got the latest 3GS iPhone, but you should have been able to get the unlimited texts thrown in!2021

My iPhone 3G 18 month contract ends 28th March - so I'm just entering last month of contract. I'm on the £45 per month tariff 1200 mins 500 texts (I never use all those minutes)
I was toying with either getting the HTC Desire in early April or waiting for the new iPhone in June (looking for an 18 month contract on both and will gladly lower my monthly minutes allowance if this saves me money on my monthly tariff)
So what would be my best approach to getting the best deal? Transfer to a rolling O2 Simplicity deal now? The £25 or £30 one would suit me fine and save me money per month.
Then in a month or so take out a new contract once HTC deals launch or even stay on Simplicity until new iPhone is announced and look at a contract on that.
Or would I be in a stronger position for tariff reduction etc going down the O2 customer retention route from my ending iPhone contract into something new? From what I've read my O2 18 month contract turns to a rolling one month contract on same tariff so I can leave when I want if needed.
I don't want to shift to SIM only or leave O2 if it will put me in a weaker postion to get a good contract deal. Is it likely O2 will offer retention deals on a new phone like the HTC Desire?
Is it doubtful they will offer retention deals on new iPhone in summer? (unsure what was offered to 3GS customers for retention).
Any advice most appreciated thanks.0 -

Hello everyone
I have been with T-mobile for years, I dont have a landline and had 2 phones the 1st - free calls to landlines and t-mobile numbers after 6pm weekdays and all weekend. £25 per month.
And 300 anytime minutes and 200 texts for £15 per month. My bills have ranged from £50-90 depending how busy I am during the month!
I have upgraded to a 16GB Iphone 3GS - 24month contract (one phone yay!!)
1200 anytime minutes
Unlimited calls to landlines (flexible booster)
Unlimited texts
unlimited internet for £45 per month if I want to add another flexible booster its an additional £5 per month
Hopefully this will give me enough minutes so that I dont go over (i'd better not!!)
Why am I getting an iphone? because it looks nice (not too fussed about apps etc) and there really isnt anything else on the T-mobile website that grabs me. I have had the LG prada for about 2 1/2 years which suited me fine, but is getting old now.
I am going to speak with my insurance company and hopefully it can be added onto it.
Hope those of you with T-mobile can get a good deal.0 -
