I have spoke to many and deal is diff each time-keep trying and eventually you'll get it if its realistic! ive decided am gona push for a free 16gb refurb handset with 400 mins unlimited texts for 30 quid a month
I called Retentions yesterday and came away with a new 3GS 16G iPhone for £59, no charge for upgrading two months early, and a tariff of 600 mins, 500 texts, unlimited web and free o2 to o2 calls for £35 a month for 18 months. She could've given me the reconditioned iPhone for free, but said there were none in stock.
Not a fantastic deal compared to some people, but I'm chuffed. I'm currently paying £42.50 a month, without the free web, and had to buy myself a Pay As You Go handset 10 months into my current contract because of the less-than-useless SE C905 that I had (In fact, I had 4 of them!). Didn't want to have to phone everyday looking to see if the reconditioned handsets were in stock because my current handset is starting to play up and bit and I can't be bothered with it anymore!"Some people want it to happen, some wish it would happen, others make it happen."0 -

Thought the tariff changed to unlimited texts yesterday?0 -
The tariffs did change to unlimited texts yesterday, but I got one of the old tariffs. I've never gone over the 500 texts, so no need for me to have unlimited ones. They only give 300 mins for £35 a month now!"Some people want it to happen, some wish it would happen, others make it happen."0

Does anyone have info on the O2 Open scheme? My gf is a nurse and apparently she qualifies but where does she obtain her code?
Cheers.
edit...just rang my local o2 store and it's a £75 cash back and does apply to iPhone. I just have to get my gf to pop along when I go to the store.
This will be my 3rd iphone in as many months. Started with Tesco but the tariff just wasn't giving me enough minutes and texts etc. Moved to Vodafone but wasn't able to get 3G at home or office even though the coverage map said I would. So now coming back to O2!0 -
I gave retentions a call yesterday and was told i couldnt upgrade until 29th March (1month before my simplicity contracts expires) even though o2's website would allow me to upgrade there and then! Apparantly I can get a deal from the 29th March on a 3GS 16GB as i told them I was gonna cancel and go with Tesco Mobile for £20 per month. I asked if the price would drop any further if i had a refurb and she said YES. Didnt say that they were out of stock at all!0

Tinkerbell-so you still in your contract-just upgrading early like me as a gold customer and you got a deal-why are o2 telling me i wont get a deal if am still in contract?...when i phoned up and asked to get put through to retentions they said why? i told them i was calling up to get a good deal bla bla bla and she was like...thats impossosble your got getting offered a deal as youve got 3 months left of your contract....
so i shouldn't give in...feel gutted as got loads of iphone stuff for xmas and it just be a waste if i couldnt secure a deal i can afford being a student nurse!0 -
I signed up to a £20 per month, 24 month contract with orange via topcashback.com while they were paying £150.
I sold the Motorola Dext I received with the contract on gumtree for £200.
I sold my old Blackberry on gumtree for £50.
I then bought a new unwanted upgrade from somebody on gumtree for £400 and put my new orange SIM in (phone was locked to orange)
I then called orange to add 500mb anytime data for £5 per month.
Now I've got a brand new 3GS (32gb) with 400 mins, 300 txts and 500mb data for £25 per month!
ps. the phone is amazing btw, but at this rate im gonna spend all the money I've saved on apps!!0 -
WARNING!!!!
I got impatient waiting for a refurb on O2 so left and went to Vodafone as at the time (last week) they offered unlimited text whereas O2 didn't (no one bothered to tell me they would in a week's time, no one tried to get me to stay-NOTHING). I paid the usual £35 per month (24months) and £89 for 3gs handset. I have had NO RECEPTION all week. One bar tops. Have called VF several times to complain and nothing. Now I realise I may be screwed as there is only a 7 day window to return if faulty. Do not trust Vodafone's signal map. I live in London, so if I can't get a reception-forget it. Total rip off! Wish I had waited a week0
