It's unclear whether the new tariffs include MMS and texts sent from abroad. The tariff details indicate that it will cost but the small print below indicates it will.

The texts from abroad and mms are chargeable on the new tariffs:mad:

If you think about it, the average user uses 500 sms (speculating here) so if you replace the word "unlimited texts" on the tariffs the price of the average users tariffs are going up by at least £5 a month

The tariff i'm on is now £25 a month instead of £20 and i have to pay for texts abroad, its rubbish.

I agree that it seems almost certain that they have removed MMS or texts from abroad on their new tariffs (Mobile news sites are reporting this) although the O2 website still says:

    Inclusive text

Your inclusive text allowance can be used for UK text, picture, video or roaming messages. 1 picture or video texts sent is equivalent to 4 text messages. 1 text message sent from abroad is equivalent to 4 text messages.

This is listed on iPhone and Simplicity for iPhone tariffs.

They've also removed many of the Bolt-On options from most of their tariffs. A backwards move in my opinion.

Just been looking at the O2 Simplicity option. On the standard Simplicity 12 months deal - 300mins / unlimited text / unlimited 02-02 (£10/month). This would be perfect for me but I'd need to add data/wifi etc and I'm not sure if there's an option for this or if there is how much?

The alternative is the iPhone Simplicity deal. This offers 300 mins / unlimited text / unlimited data/wifi (£15/month). Problem here is I'd like to add unlimited 02-02 or atleast unlimited calls to 1 other phone. Is there an option?

If I then bought a 3GS one of these deals would give me the flexibility of changing phones as and when I want.
  • Well I've had enough of ringing up trying to get something out of them.

I'm able to upgrade from April but thought I'd try early and they wanna charge me stupid amounts just because I'm not out of contract. Been a customer for 10 years and they're just not interested.

I'm currently on a £35 per month tarriff with a 40% discount which works out at £21 pm, with 600 mins, 500 txts, unltd texts, internet bolted on for free.

Just gonna go out and buy an iPhone and run my tarriff till the end, then upgrade, get another iPhone, get it unlocked and recoup me money....maybe a bit more.

    Sorted.

I just hope theres some in 2 weeks time....thought they were getting deliverys everyday?

You have to remember that refurbs are usually phones returned within the first 14 days, and has the phones are very popular, I don't imagine that they have that many returned, hence why stocks are limited & go quickly.
  • Well I called this morning, iPhone 3G 16GB was in stock, but as it's only a Gold priority upgrade (my contract ends in May), they wouldn't cut me a deal on it, which is pretty ridiculous!

Contemplating down grading to simplicity, and immediately giving them 30 days notice.

i am the exact same as you except my 3 month gold upgrade is from 9th march-i was told by someone i get would get deal and someone i wouldn't-you have to ask to go through to retentions-say someone you spoke to gave you a few deals and you want to go ahead with 1 of them as you were thinking of cancelling your contract but the deal was good so your going to go with it them tell them what you want and try from there-don't take first answer from 1st person. I have spoke to many and deal is diff each time-keep trying and eventually you'll get it if its realistic! ive decided am gona push for a free 16gb refurb handset with 400 mins unlimited texts for 30 quid a month

how do i record the calls?? i do take their name and offer written down and they say that is impossible bla bla bla..its a disgrace-i spent 30 mins on the phone the last time-and all for nothing!

Usually an option on your phone to record.... what phone have you got?

And if you take their full name and the offe,r just insist that you are put through to them or ask for a manager if they refuse.
