You can't get anywhere as it seems like you are making obvious that you are flexible... you should be totally polite, but totally unflexible.

You said you'd been with them for 10 years? And you are happy to pay the same as other people who have got the 32GB (new, not just refurbished) for free, the fact that you are willing to compromise is beyond me... :)

o2 want your business, they are not entitled to it... make sure you get what you want before you give them your hard earned cash - you deserve it.

Push for the 32Gb on 35 pm.... don't settle for the 16Gb if you know it will barely meet your needs.

Hey i know what your saying but the women i spoke to said i wouldn't be due any discount and shouldn't be expecting it and if i want to cancel shed be happy to do that for me-i was shocked-customer loyalty means nothing to them

Yeah, at least with Orange when you cancel they send you out a letter asking you to ring them... once they know you are serious, they will be much more willing to help...

assuming its the ssame process with o2, but you should check.

If it was me I'd wait. If you are happy with the 3G, why waste your upgrade on getting a car with a retuned engine, when you can get a completely new model in 3 or 4 months?

Do we even know which network the new iPhone will be available on yet?

Also, once the 4G is out, the 3gs will depreciated hugely IMO.

    Thanks Daggy;)

Do you think it's worth going onto a rolling contract in the interim or am I likely to get a better deal when the new iphone is eventually released by staying on the £35 p.m contract until then?
  • when i received my unlimited messages bolt on for free, the woman said on the phone that messages abroad will take 4 messages out of your 500 allowance and then uk texts are taken off the unlimited allowance - result!!

I'm honestly not sure how o2 upgrades work that as I'm on orange.

Is the rolling contract a lot cheaper? If it is, I'd imagine it would be better for you to stay on the 35 ppm contract as you'd build up more loaylty points..... I think.

I recommend you post a thread asking how the two options affect your loyalty points? Maybe post in the o2 retentions thread (if there is one).

    Sorry I couldn't be more help. :)

Orange told me that about my unlimited texts a few years a go...

I went to America in the summer to work and the huge bill I got confirmed they were wrong. Took me a while to sort it out and get my bill reduced.

shame on orange then but o2 have always been the only uk mobile company that allow free text messages and picture messages to be taken from the customer's monthly message allowance

The only thing keeping me with Orange is the merger wiuth Tmobile...

Hopefully phone choice will improve,if not I'll take them for everything I can when I upgrade this time (lots of high bills means lots of loyalty), then I'llmake the switch next time.
