I think there is far more ability to make deals in the last month - remember if you go through Retentions you're not simply upgrading and they know they have 3 more months on your contract before you could leave.
yeah i know this but i got a good deal last time, if i hold out the new iphone 4 is out then but i cant afford the new model as is always a fortune at first-i want a 16gb refurb handset for free with unlimited texts and data for no more than 35 quid a month which i think i could get in the 3 month early upgrade if i try...id love the 32gb but would take the 16gb too as my music on my ipod would just about fit on the 16gb. I got the name of the last guy i spoke to and extension number-he said he would be willing to do me a good deal in 2 weeks time-so will see!0 -

Thanks AndyB82
I've been watching this thread for a few weeks now. I'm due for an upgrade and very keen to get the iPhone, though not so keen on the price of the handset on my current £35/18 month contract!
Just spoke to a guy in retentions. He told me that I should wait out until Friday because their contracts are changing and they'll be much more price-competitive, and willing to do better deals. Apparently the new iPhone contracts will contain unlimited texts and WiFi.
Today he said they could give me a reconditioned 16G 3GS for free on my current tariff, though apparently there's no reconditioned handsets in stock at the mo. He did say, however, that they're expecting deliveries of them every day this week!
Going to phone them back on Friday, and see what someone else might offer me."Some people want it to happen, some wish it would happen, others make it happen."0 -

Been told by two people at o2 that it's this Friday. Guy this morning said the new tarrifs would be available from 8am.
Know what you mean about always being told different stories by o2...just have to look on here at everyone's experience with trying to get the reconditioned handsets!!"Some people want it to happen, some wish it would happen, others make it happen."0 -

so in the new tarrifs -for iphones will it be the same as before except changing the 500 texts to unlimited texts?
yeah it just depends who you speak to...every time i speak to someone its a totally diff answer...pppfffft0 -
The guy I spoke to last week said they were including the Bolt On of unlimited texts, the guy this morning said there'd be free WiFi added to the tariffs as well. The inclusive minutes should stay the same though. He did say that they won't know the exact deals til they log onto their computers on Friday morning."Some people want it to happen, some wish it would happen, others make it happen."0

There is already free wifi on the iphone tariffs. unlimited texts would mean an end to the free texts abroad as the bolt on messages are not the same as standard messages.0 -
hello
just tried again, got same deal as said in previous post.
he said they were changing tarriffs on friday, this time he said - could be for better or worse.
how long do the refurbs take to go out of stock when they come in? anyone know from previous experience?
guy told me that if i use more than 500 messages then the bolt on of unlimited messages couldnt be free. He said they give them free to people who dont use them (whats the point in that?????)
