just tried again, got same deal as said in previous post.
he said they were changing tarriffs on friday, this time he said - could be for better or worse.
how long do the refurbs take to go out of stock when they come in? anyone know from previous experience?
guy told me that if i use more than 500 messages then the bolt on of unlimited messages couldnt be free. He said they give them free to people who dont use them (whats the point in that?????)

that is pointless.....so the tarrifs might get worse now-even though they said they were changing for the better to be more competitive?..aww no if they change for the worse tha'ts terrible news as i don't think the standard tarrifs on the iphone are very good to begin with!0 -

i then phoned back to spk to someone else in upgrades and she was so unhelpful....i am getting fed up now-she said do you just want to cancel? and was saying im just due the same offers nyone else is-do discount.
So im waiting another 2 weeks and then trying-if not will just cancel my contract as they don't care and vodafone do unlimited texts with there iphone! I don't see the point in staying with the same company if there no deals or better offers than other ones around!
It seems to me that you're being a bit of a pushover.... If it was me,when she asked if I wanted to cancel, I'd have said yes; they always send you a letter asking you to ring them to try and resolve your issue. If they think you're joking, they wont pull out all the stops.
I'm not sure if it's the same with 02 as orange, but if you upgrade three months early, that 3 months gets added on to your new contract, so it'll actually be a 21 month contract.Louisa2010 wrote: »yeah i know this but i got a good deal last time, if i hold out the new iphone 4 is out then but i cant afford the new model as is always a fortune at first-i want a 16gb refurb handset for free with unlimited texts and data for no more than 35 quid a month which i think i could get in the 3 month early upgrade if i try...id love the 32gb but would take the 16gb too as my music on my ipod would just about fit on the 16gb. I got the name of the last guy i spoke to and extension number-he said he would be willing to do me a good deal in 2 weeks time-so will see!
I think you're getting problems, as you know what you want, but you're too flexible on it. If you want the 32 gb, then tell them and don't budge until you get it... other people have, why shouldn't you?
I think 35 pm on the 32GB is good,on the 16GB you should be aiming for 30 pm max.0 -

It makes marketing and financial sense for o2 as it keeps the average user happy and alienates the minority of high end users....
Give unlimited texts to someone who wont use them, they think they are getting a great deal, but in reality the extra money they pay is for nothing.
Orange do it too, and it will be their downbfall as far as high use users are concerned.0 -
FelinePrincess wrote: »Hi,
I have been reading the deals some people are getting on this thread, I am looking for an i phone myself, I want the monthly payments as low as poss and don't really need alot of mins or texts, this is the best deal I have found online - £30 per month, £125 handset (16gb 3gs) 150 mins, 250 texts and unlimited internet with orange on 24 month contract - total cost: £845.. Just wondered if anyone can tell me if this is an ok deal or not?
Also, does anyone know when the 4g is out? Is it worth hanging on for it or will it be alot more expensive to begin with?
Thanks!
I wouldn't take that deal in a month of sundays.
Are you really gonig to be happy with the 3gs for 2 years when the 4g will be out in a few months?
If you would be happy with the 3gs, wait a few months until the 4g comes out and you will get a substantially better package.0 -
Just a quick note for those that are upgrading to an iphone from a bog-standard phone.
I got a refurbed 3G. I phoned last week to ask why I couldn't connect to the 3G network, only 2G or the edge (depending on the icon).
I was told that I only had a 2G sim card so I needed a new one which they are sending. You'd think they'd check when they send out a 3G phone but apparently not.0 -

I know but i can't get anywhere and now i would settle for the 16gb, i know the new iphone coming out soon but i think it will take till end of year to see the 3gs reduce significantly??
I would be happy with the 3gs handset anyway-i feel if i push for the 32gb i might be asking for too much??0 -
I am in a bit of a dilemma that many iPhone users probably are as well. Should I get the 3GS or wait for the 4G(if thats what it will be called).
I am due a upgrade this weekend. I don't want to pay out £45 a month for the next 24 months and miss out on getting the new iPhone.
Looking back over the iPhone release date history:
Original: June 29, 2007
3G: July 11, 2008
3GS: June 19, 2009
The latest iPhone could possibly be released in a couple of months.
I think I will go onto rolling month contract for now until June/July and wait for official news. Current 3G 8GB is in perfect condition and was only going to sell it on ebay to pay for the device cost of a new one anyway.
Many others in same situation??0 -

At the risk of being pedantic.... you answer your own questions...
In all seriousness, I'd wait, especially if you have the 3g already0 -
There is already free wifi on the iphone tariffs. unlimited texts would mean an end to the free texts abroad as the bolt on messages are not the same as standard messages.
I have the unlimited texts Bolt On with my current contract and have never had to pay for texts when on holiday. Living in Northern Ireland, my phone jumps onto o2 Ireland all the time and it's never been an issue either.
I didn't realise the iPhone tariffs had free WiFi included already - obviously their employee I spoke to this morning didn't either!"Some people want it to happen, some wish it would happen, others make it happen."0 -

You can't get anywhere as it seems like you are making obvious that you are flexible... you should be totally polite, but totally unflexible.
You said you'd been with them for 10 years? And you are happy to pay the same as other people who have got the 32GB (new, not just refurbished) for free, the fact that you are willing to compromise is beyond me...
o2 want your business, they are not entitled to it... make sure you get what you want before you give them your hard earned cash - you deserve it.
Push for the 32Gb on 35 pm.... don't settle for the 16Gb if you know it will barely meet your needs.0
