As a new customer, I've just seen that I can get with O2:-
Online simplicity 20 SIM Only
12 months contract
1600 texts / 800 mins
Includes Unlimited Web Bolt On
Monthly cost
£20.00
Now what I want to know is can I buy a PAYG I-Phone 3GS with O2 for £449 and be able to use this sim?
If I make this deal comparable to the O2 18 months at £35 pm package there is only £10 saving, but I would be getting extra minutes and texts, and only be contracted for 12 months. Therefore being able to unlock early. (I wouldn't get the free Wi-Fi, but I'm not sure I'd really use that feature much anyway)
Basically would O2 stop me from putting the simplicity sim into the phone?
Feel free to point out any flaws in this plan.
Yes this would work - it's what I did when I bought my iphone last April. I've just upgraded to the 3GS because I got a refurbed 32GB free, and sold my old phone for £240, so over the next 18 months I'm £30 down in total, but have wifi which comes in handy as occasionally meet reps in coffee shops, and the visual voicemail which again is useful.0 -

There is also an Simplicity tariff for the iPhone - exactly the same as the one you described but also has WiFi and visual voicemail. You'll need to ask O2 for it though as it's not advertised. Most people seemed to have got this deal for £20 but an article I read somewhere else last week indicated it was £27.50 but no one else has confirmed this. It possible that the person who wrote that comment had gone for the Simplicity deal and then added the WiFi bolt-on (which would be £27.50).0 -

My phone was free, I got the same deal as above, £35/m with 600 mins 500 texts ulimited web/wifi etc. didnt have to argue for it, i just asked straight off and was given it - maybe I should have bartered a bit but never mind!
Give 02 a ring back today and reject the phone you have recieved and ask them to send out another one, IIRC you have a 14 day cooling off period on the one you have.
I think some people have been able to get te 16gb 3gs for about £28/m, but not sure if they had to pay for the phone?0 -
i wouldn't bother with the 3g, 3gS the least as the new version out this year too, so will be old hat0

I just phoned them having seen your comment and they told me they don't have any in stock.
I said I'd just seen posts on internet forums saying they were in so the guy went away to check, and came back confirming there weren't any in stock.
What's that about?!0 -

I'm not sure that I'll be able to reject the phone as i've used it?
Does anyone know if it's possible to send back if it's used please?
Thanks in advance.

They must really not like you. I just called and was told they have black and white 32gb 3gs in stock, wanted £179 for it on £35/m though so not bothering.0
