Did you also get a new phone? If you didn't it sounds like they've switched you to the standard simplicity sim only deal - check their website!
  • Over on hotuk deals they have an offer for nokia 5800 from buymobilephones.net.
The same company do some rubbish nokia with 300mins 300 txts and unltd internet on t-mobile for £15 per month over 24 months but they give £200 auto cashback (not redemption)
Over the 24 months this works out as £6.67 per month. This sim would would work in the iphone right? and seems very cheap compared to other sim only deals.

You can swap the unltd internet for txt and then add internet for £5 per month. There are also other various booster options you can change every 30 days.
  • Forgot to add £25 quidco as well. 300 mins unltd txts and net = £11.66 per month only downer is 2 years.
  • So when people are talking about getting a refurbished iPhone from O2, are these only for contract or can you buy a refurbished pay as you go iPhone from O2?

  • Hi, I've been reading this thread with interest.

My iphone contract with O2 came to an end in December and I'm really unsure what to do next. I want to stick with the iphone but don't know if I should try and negotiate a good deal on a refurbished 3GS, or wait for the iphone 4 to come out?
Or, would it be possible to get a new contract on a 3GS and then sell it to fund a iphone 4 and switch sim to the newer phone?

I've also heard rumours that the iphone does not work well on Vodaphone, but no idea if this is saleman's patter or actually true.

    All advice appreciated!
  • Sorry if this is posted on the wrong thread but I couldn't find anywhere else more relevant.

As a new customer, I've just seen that I can get with O2:-

    Online simplicity 20 SIM Only
    12 months contract
    1600 texts / 800 mins
    Includes Unlimited Web Bolt On

    Monthly cost
    £20.00

Now what I want to know is can I buy a PAYG I-Phone 3GS with O2 for £449 and be able to use this sim?

If I make this deal comparable to the O2 18 months at £35 pm package there is only £10 saving, but I would be getting extra minutes and texts, and only be contracted for 12 months. Therefore being able to unlock early. (I wouldn't get the free Wi-Fi, but I'm not sure I'd really use that feature much anyway)

Basically would O2 stop me from putting the simplicity sim into the phone?

Feel free to point out any flaws in this plan.
