Yes it is possible but it also depends on how long you have been with o2.

i have been with o2 /genie since i was 18 and im now almost 27! so like 8 yrs!

It's more of a case of them giving me differing stories all the time. Why say they have them in, then 4 hours later saying they haven't! Honesty is all a lot of us want!

I would say so.
I've been with o2 for over 8 years now and they said I was a silver customer and will be a gold customer by my next upgrade and this will give me more discounts.

well i was told i got a phone call saying i could upgrade-last week and then i said id call back once i had a think about it-when i called back they told me i could keep my current discount but wasn't due an upgrade for another 3 weeks..!? So i said but you contacted me about it?? Then i had another call from them yesterday asking me if i wanted to renew my contract-i said yes but was told it have to wait another 3 weeks and then she went away and checked-came back said yes that's right-i then asked if i could keep my current discount and she said i have to re negotiate it in 3 weeks time-so confused!! so im just waiting the 3 weeks and hoping i can get a free iphone handset-not bothered about if its new one or refurb -i just want 16gb so can fit all my music on it but would take 8gb if its all thats offered!

i have spend over 45 a month for 7 yrs but the past 15 mths i got a discount as was going to leave- so spent around 30 a month past 15 mths

I am also going to take out o2 broadband in july if they give me a good deal-if not vodafone offered me a free iphone 3g with unlimited texts and data and wifi and 600 mins 18 months contract for 28 quid a month so will just go with that if all else fails

Been with o2 since their BT Cellnet days and I'm a 'gold' customer which means I can upgrade 3 months early however speaking to someone who used to work in the business, you will have more leverage over them if you wait until your in your last month of contract when you can leave without penalty. That's when they are desperate to keep your business.

I will phone them on the 27th of Feb to see what they can do but I reckon I'll have to wait until the end of April to get what I want, (brand new free 3GS 32GB, 18 month contract, no more than £35 pcm, something similar to what iblametheparents got).

If I get no joy, the more and more I look at the Tesco deal, the better it's looking, plus it's only for 12 months.

Can i just ask.....

When you have got these great iphone deals was it due to you being at the end of your contract? I am a Gold customer and can upgrade 3 months early which will be in 3 weeks but i was told on the phone I wouldn't be able to get any discounts if i upgrade early-if i wait till June i can get a discount,why is that?Surely if upgrading early is a service they offer loyal customers, then why make it a disadvantage by not allowing discounts?

When i last upgraded it was the 3 months early situation and they offered me a discount then?? has it changed?

I was just told to keep ringing back every day, no delivery date was appearing on the screens when I rang.

Apparently I was the 5th or 6th person between 8 and 9am ringing about the refurb stock though, they're going to be popular when they arrive!

well i'll miss out as i cant upgrade for another 3 weeks so they will all be gone-il just have to pay for a new one! doubt they'll offer me a discount anyway according to o2-even though i'm GOLD customer!
