Things might have changed now since you can now get the iPhone on Orange as well as O2. But when I got mine, O2, Apple and CPW had a monopoly deal meaning no one was allowed to give any discount on getting an iPhone, both contract and PAYG. Not even their employers,

If they say no, ask them why and ask them is this NO only apply to iPhone? If the answer is yes then I am afraid the info I have got is still pretty up to regarding discount with iPhone.

So to answer you question, no, not really, if they say no, then it probably is a no with getting the iPhone itself. But I know now if you sign up to an 18 or 24 months contract, you could get the iPhoen for free or something, do check the O2 website for this.

With getting a loyalty discount, yes, O2 offers 5, 10 or 15 pounds off line rental to their existing customer. I get 15 pounds off a month. How much you could get depending on many factors, such as how long have you been with them, your monthly usage etc. They key is to save your breathe with the customer service people, you need to talk to the Retention Team who are the only people can offer you any decent discount.

Is your wife's contract ending within the next 30 days? Coz this is the only time you could talk to them with loyalty deals. I am not sure if you could get any discount just because your wife is with O2.

    Hope it helps.

Patience has never been a virtue, especilly after waiting for so long to get the iphone!

First offer I got was free 32GB 3GS on £45pm (downgrade after 9 months) or free 16GB 3GS on £35 pm. Took the 32GB.

I'm hoping I'll be able to go into the shop and get my £75 caschback through the O2 open scheme, but we'll see...

Can I save money by running an Iphone on a normal monthly contract? I signed up for a normal Orange 2 year contract a couple of months ago (£20 per month for loads of minutes, loads of texts, broadband, and 'unlimited' data), and would like to buy an Orange Iphone, and insert my SIM. Will this work?

Yes you can. I am a living example. Only I am with O2.

Has anyone heard of any success stories with bartering with O2 hwen upgrading to an iPhone?

I am near the ned of an 18 month contract with O2, but have been with them for years! I would love an iPhone.... but would also love to lower my tariff.... or at the least not pay to upgrade to an iphone!! Will I get the best deal by bartering rather than going to another network?! Will they buy it if I say I would go elsewhere!

    Cheers!

The past 5 pages all have people listing their stories in this regard.
  • Anyone heard of any deals with orange? I spoke to them the other day and all i was told is there was no deals because apple have told orange that they can't do any deals, vodafone has said the same although I am not sure how true this is after reading the deals that o2 offer. Can anyone add any light on this?
  • im waiting on an answer to a similar question.
so far i dont seen to be getting any replies
  • I spoke to O2 last week on my son's behalf. Got a 32gb reboxed ( refurbed) iphone for £31 on 18 month contract. No additional phone cost. Added a bolt on for £7.50 which gives him unlimited texts and 500 mins voice and unlim data. Phone arrived a couple of days ago and whilst not in original iphone box it all looks brand new and works just great. Liked the look of it so much I thought I would get one. Phoned O2 again but they informed me that refurbed were only available to upgrades and not to new accounts. They offered me £45 a month + £87 as their cheapest option on 18 month. I told them I would go to Tesco but they could not improve the deal.

Nothing is free normally! Thats £420 over 12 months and £630 over 18 months!

When I meant for free, I mean I didn't have to pay the usual cost of £279 for the handset on that tariff.
