I dropped my old iphone 3g down the toilet and my insurance company (Lifestyles Services Group via a Barclays account) covered it. They couldn't send me a new iphone due to o2 and Carphone Warehouse exclusivity, but they gave me £342.50 (minus £25 excess) to buy a new one. They even cover electrical and mechanical breakdown and I believe o2's insurance doesn't cover that.0

Just ordered a 16gb 3GS on 12 month contract from tesco :j.
Really straight forward and should be here on Monday. I asked about insurance and they don't do it, you need to get that covered separately. Think i'll get it under the house insurance0 -
Hi All,
Apologies if this was discussed earlier.
I read Martin's article of this week and learnt that Topcashback.co.uk is offering £55 cashback on iPhone. I am planning to buy an iPhone using that offer on O2's network. Just want to know if there will be any restrictions/hidden clause/T&C from O2 if I buy from Topcashback? In what way it will differ if I were to buy the same phone and same plan from O2 directly?
Thanks

When I claimed on my dad's contents policy a couple of years ago, I claimed under the Personal Belongings section. That was with Norwich Union Direct.0

well i called swintons today and they said an iphone would be insurance as I have £2000 personal possesion cover and also accidental damage cover. only thing is excess is £100 but if it saves me the £15 a month and would give me a new phone if I lost or broke mine then its all good0

Assuming you are thinking of buying via us (as I'm not sure anyone else offers £55 via TCB) there's absolutely no difference at all.

Trying to find out how much it would be as can only find reference to normal PAYG insurance on their website no mention of iphone.
cheers
They don't offer insurance on it which is rather stupid...I asked when I got mine on the 12 month 'Staff Tariff'0
