NUS EXTRA rip off

she should be able to log onto the website using the details she used when she first ordered it and select "My Account" on there is an option to track your card,
I received my card quite quickly, in fact I tried to register it but it wouldn't let me because on track my card it said it was awaiting despatch! :rotfl: A quick email sorted that.
I must say that next year I might not bother with the NUS Extra card, although some discounts are great they are discounts I can get another way anyway!:kisses2: Got married September 2011:smileyhea

The students' union are supposed to email you when it arrives but they don't always do so. My card was showing as being despatched on 3 October; when I hadn't received an email a couple of weeks after that I called into the SU and was fobbed off with 'we'll email you when it arrives; it could take another week'. A week or so after that I telephoned the SU and it turned out it was there all along. So be persistent!0 -
I will probably regret buying my card, as the main reason was to have an ISIC card. It was included on the card last year, but was dropped this year.
The nus extra web site claims you can now get a £3 discount on the ISIC as a extra cardholder. However there seems to be no way to actually get the discount. My college union, at large London university, do not handle the cards, and the discount is cited as only being available by mail order from ISIC. However they make no reference to the discount, and actually charge more for mail order.
The NUS do not deal with enquiries about extra by telephone, referring you to 'help pages'. I did eventually find an email for enquiries, but my mail remains unanswered. Very poor customer service I am afraid, and a waste of money for me.0 -

Oh we're still in 6th form so I assume the cards will be sent straight to us; that's what happened last year.
And Martine1081, thanks, I'll tell her to try that. I'm attempting to do this myself but I can't see the option to track my card. I'm not even sure that the e-mail address I used to sign up was the same one I used on the form. Oh dear. Hopefully the card will turn up soon!0 -
I don't have an NUS card, and the only place i have had problems getting a discount with my student id is in superdrugs. Everywhere else has been fine.0

I also don't have one!! I love shopping at HMV and Zavvi and and they're happy to accept my student card, so why pay extra!!0

I had a NUS card for the past year and i don't see lot of good things or deals about it. my honest opinion is that it sucks..
My use so far
Get a free drink from Subway when u buy a sandwich
Get 10% off in Burton retailers
Can buy a movie ticket of £7.80 for £5.40
Thats all the benefit I had  so I'm not buying a new one for this year

It's just not worth it, and never has been imo!0

I'm a mature student and I got one of these cards, it has easily paid for itself - got a third off a new pair of glasses at Specsavers, discount at the cinema, 5% off at Amazon and 10% off at Matalan (even though most of the clothes were for my daughter!). I tend to find that it's worth asking in shops if they will give you a discount, as not all the available discounts are listed on the NUS site.0
