yepo. ive tried quite a few times - no avail. it just rings and rings or connects and sounds like a "bad line".....
can you find out who the line is registered to?0 -
The only thing i can tell you is
Code:01730 26 and 01730 81 Area:Petersfield
Locality:Petersfield, Hampshire
Operator:British Telecom
Tariff Band:National (inc VAT)Service:Geographic
If they become more persistent you can seek advice from the Nuisance Call Bureau during office hours, on 0800 661 441.0 -
here's a laugh....the BT Nuisance Call Line told me that they didn't have any interest as I wasn't a BT customer and to talk to Tiscali.
I talked to Tiscali whose Indian helpline was so efficient that the guy went away to find the answer for 5 minutes 12 seconds. Then he told me to turn down the volume on the handset so it didn't ring or to take the phone off the hook.
Don't quite know what to do now.0 -

That's like complaining to Cadburys when a bar of Lindt chocolate is not to your liking.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -
I complained to BT as the post above says that both numbers are BT lines: i used reverse complaining! They couldn't do anything though.0

A new take on this: another local 01730 number rang this morning at 1.45am. It connected then sounds like the other one - a bad connection with crackiling and rustling. What is happening.....any ideas??0

I know I'm bumping an old thread and apologise for doing so.
I am the owner of the above website and just want to stress that this number has nothing to do with me.
I have no idea how google picked up on it, but it might have been because of something that was hotlinked by one of our members. Anyway, it doesn't appear in Google's cache any longer, but I just wanted to address any concerns people had.
Thanks0 -
Hi all! Just heard back from Tiscali today after a long week of swapping e-mails about nuisance calls. They just say report it to the Police - is this normal in anyone's experience?0
