Nuisance Calls

I was !!!!!!! angry at this morning's call - some foreign sounding woman I couldn't understand with an awful line and a number beginning in 009.

This was before 8am just as I was leaving for work - I thought it was an urgent family matter someone ringing at that time of day. :mad:

Is there any way you can stop calls coming from a company who withhold there number? We've been getting loads recently, they know my surname and keep asking questions such as - can i confirm you use a bt line which i dont, or can i confirm you are a british gas customer which i'm not. the calls i assume are coming from an indian call centre and i've never given them any information i asked who they were and from but could not make out what they said, the calls are getting more and more frequent now:mad:. I've told them to stop calling or i'll report them (whether i could or not i dont know but i was hoping it might stop the calls) and they just say idont understand what your saying. Any help most appreciated

Ive got all anonymous numbers blocked on my phone.Just ask your service provider.

It can be a pain sometimes if a friend is ex directory but we were getting so many calls in the night we had to do something (we have a business number and overseas calls arent blocked by the preference service)

I found TPS worked for a while but it doesn't stop those companies who have software that dials random numbers and waits for someone to answer - also doesn't stop calls from overseas which are more and more prevalent.
