I just had a call from 01535 297160
The guy was trying to offer stair lifts & equipment, I told him no politely twice.... then he carried on asking if I new anyone else that was interested in stair lifts, thats when I snapped at him and told him NO, and to F*** Off!!
im going to help you all out since i recognised that number straight away. its acorn stairlifts selling through a company they own called response 2. i used to work for them a couple of years ago. now that is a company that has no morals. i quit as they used to call a customer, offer a free booklet on stairlifts or a video. as soon as you agree, they will call you daily for a week, then weekly for 3 months and then every month for the rest of your life. never deal with that company!0 -

"The Information Centre", who offer to tell you about an amazing government initiative where you can reduce your debt payments to an amount you can afford. No sign of them in the internet.
these jokers have been ringing me all week. Answered by mistake just now (4th call from them today), and got th start of an automated message. Have complained to the TPS just now, but don't know what good it will do.0 -
I to have had problems the last couple of months. Answered the first one to realise it was a finance company staffed with non English accents.
My caller display showed them still calling so I complained to BT. They passed on the info to the company (NTL it seems) that service this number, but the calls started again after a few weeks. They even called once during a football match (not a good idea), and the last time this number appeared the guy on the other end claimed he was doing research for a charity!
Maybe they are trying a different tack on me, as when they called when the football was on that I tried out the fonejacker approach in reverse (see here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EjH9cEoEup8 if you are unfamiliar with C4 crank call series).
When he tried to flog me some useless finacial product I asked him if he could sell me a "doovde player". After he couldn't understand what I was saying I asked him if he wanted me to spell it for him. You could hear the rage in his voice when I spelt out D-V-D for him! "but we don't sell DVDs sir, we sell insurance, blah, blah, blah." "Yes, but can you sell me a doovde?" Try it yourselves, it'll put a smile on your faces rather than walking away in a rage.0 -
better still and this works every time , get an old telephone dir or yellow pages , wrap that up in brown paper anything . then stick the 1st Class pre paid envelope on the front, then bang it in a post box .
You could put a note in as well saying if they dont stop sending junk mail they will get a phone book every time . O dont us the 2 nd class one's they dont work .
IT SOON STOPS THEM LOL LOL0 -
13 missed calls in a day - what do they pay their staff for.
Have anyone had any luck from emailing them?0 -
Morning,
Wonder if anyone had anyone can help.
My Aunty has been getting quite a few calls from an unkown international number and this is happening 3am, 4am 5am and through out the day. She is with NTL and the only thing they can offer is a new number but she's had this number for 10years.
It could be a company ringing but not to sure.. when she answers they are just foreigners and cant understand them. I have now added her number to the database that stops companies calling..which will take about a month to activate.
Can anyone suggest anything else. BT do a 'choose to refuse' feature but you need to know the number before hand but NTL say they cant get this... i personally think they can as i work with telephony myself and they must be able to search at newtork level for this.
Please help as my poor aunty is getting up all hours and living on your own can make it worse!!
For now she is living the phone either unplugged over night or downstairs where she cant hear it going.. doesnt help when there is an emergency though!
She can obviously block 'Number withhelds' but alot of the family are ex-directory so this is a no go!
Thanks in advance!

Firstly just because someone is ex-directory does not necessarily mean their caller ID is withheld. They can ask, like everyone else, for caller ID to be withheld on all calls or just one call. This is seperate to being ex-directory. Can NTL not block all incoming International calls? This should get around the problem of "Withheld" caller IDs being blocked.0

Also with BT's choose to refuse you don't need to know the number before hand, even if it's withheld, you just select the option block the last caller. Whether this works for international calls I don't know.
However cable doesn't offer choose to refuse. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)0 -
NTL have said that can't block only international callers..i've already got my aunty to ask this.
Yeah sorry realise what i said about ex directory now..
So if we got 'withheld numbers' blocked with this stop 'international numbers unknown' aswell then as this what shows on the display when they call?0 -
While you are at it,and if you havent already done it,block "silent calls" for her with tps,has to be done seperately to their usual sales call blocking.0
