  • I also ordered back in early may this year from Furnituredeal £790.00 for a dinning table and chairs, contact at first wasnt too bad but then no kind of contact what so ever unless i was persistant with emails, alarm bells should have rang out really but you tend to have a little bit of faith, lol, should have known better. Well like everyone else i have done all the phone calls today and been to my bank as advised by others on here, just got home and guess what have recieved an email saying they have gone into liquidation. I found another company name they went under FDW. What a nitemare they have been not just for myself but for others, taking our hard earned cash and gaining interest while they have it. The B******s . I am so gutted i just hope i can get my money back as i paid by visa debit. good luck to you all.

  • Never been scammed before and def don't want to be again. Its been a totally draining and aggravating process. Reading other's stories, makes me even more mad at what these crooks have done to us all. I spent 2 months (not that long compared to some) phoning and emailing and getting told a pack of lies from start to finish. The 'funniest' point was when I asked the customer service person to tell me his name and he actually had to pause before thinking of one. When I called back 5mins later he then gave me a different name as he obviously didn't recall either my voice or his earlier made up name. What an idiot!

Anyone know if these kind of crooks ever get taken to court or does it usually fizzle out to nothing?

btw - trading standards told me to phone my bank as even though I paid with visa debit card, some banks opt into to a chargeback scheme and will refund you.

    best of luck everyone.
  • Hi everyone..I am disgusted and furious with this awful company...they are laughing all the way to the bank with our money...I ordered the montana coffee table 2 weeks ago, and they must have known they were undergoing liquidation, yet they still took my money whilst knowing they would not be sending anything out to me. Thats illegal for a start so i'm thinking of taking legal action for that. Obviously my coffee table is never going to arrive, I cant believe I fell for this scam. The worst thig is that i paid with my solo card, so i wont be getting my money back although Ive just rang my bank and asked them to dispute the payment. so I dont know what will happen but I think I might have to wave goodbye to my money.
  • I paid £435 only a week ago. I have been told by my bank that because I paid by a Maestro card I am not covered, not even for the charge back. Trading Standards have advised me to write to the Liquidators explaining this, although it is a long shot because us customers will be their last priority!!!
  • I cant believe what they have done to us all i wish they rot away for taking our money like this... I rang the 01509 number that someone has posted on one of the previous pages...the guy was refusing to answer any questions and was quite rude and he wouldnt tell me what was happening apart from the fact that the owners of furniture deal were using his building, and because they never paid up, they went into liquidation. In the end he gave me the number for the liquidators and it is someone called Sajid Fatar that I needed to speak to, so I got through to him and he basically told me that he would be sending letters out tomorrow to all customers, and that I would not be getting my money back from the company and that my only hope was to contact my bank...I personally reckon he was in on this scam, but he was acting all nice and kind over the phone, i personally wouldnt trust him as far as i coould throw him, and believe me i'd throw him in to next week if i could!!

I understand that you are all very angry, and feel that you have been scammed. However what is more likely the case is that they are just yet another victim of the recession.

They may not of been entirely open about the reasons for the delays, that were probably due to suppliers not releasing orders until outstanding bills were pain. But would you really expect them to say "sorry for the delay, but we are on the verge of going bust"?

What would make me angry would be if the owners took loads of money from the company before it went down, but we don't know if this is the case.
  • It would be nice to know who the liquidators are so we can contact them. Many have been told they will contact us but when .... tomorrow, next week, next month? It could, could be that there is a stockroom with some of our items in. As they have taken our money the liquidators may be in a position to have the items delivered. Anyone managed to get contact details of the liquidators?
  • And by the way I have also been on to Trading standards, but they told me that there was really nothing they could do and that i needed to ring the bank, although they did say they would investigate all the allegations I have made against furniture deal
  • Macki... the liquidators are PKF Accountants tel0116 2504400 and its Sajid Fatar you need to talk to. He told me I wont get my money back unless my bank is willing to refund me, and i asked him who the owners were, but he wouldnt say. You can try this number, but I dont think you will get very far, but let us know how it goes, this is all a big joke to them. Tim Deegan..hi, seriously, I do think we have been scammed...They obviously knew they wouldnt be sending out any products to us, yet they were taking orders up until a few days ago, this is illegal activity, and obtaining money through deception and fraud.
