Tim,
That is not what I was striving to say at all!
Less than 24 hours before going into liquidation this company knowingly took funds from me and provided me with a FAKE address. The address does not exist. That is FRAUD. Nothing to do with the recession. Just plain FRAUD. I also think its fair to say that their liquidators will not look on their business activities positively either.0 -
Hello all,
I am yet another victim of these ruthless scammers - paid £1200 for a sofa, waited 5 months and was told last Friday last that is was in stock and scheduled for delivery on Monday. Needless to say nothing arrived and haven't been able to get through since.
Anyway have been doing a bit of digging on Companies House website and here are the names and address of the registered directors:
ALIMOHAMED, MOHAMED HUSSAIN & ALIMOHAMED, ASIF
81 GARTREE ROAD
LEICESTER
LEICESTERSHIRE
LE2 2FD
Company is still listed as Active so have paid for subscription service which will send me notification should this status change.
Finally I would also advise eyeryone affected to contact Consumer Direct who will pass on complaints to trading standards and provide advice on recovery of monies lost.
Good luck!0 -
This company goes from one extreme to the next. Within the last 2 days I have recieved 4 emails off them telling me the company has gone into liquidation....Still dont believe they have, still think its a pure scam.:smileyhea0

I agree it is a total scam and hope Trading Standards actually do something to stop these guys setting up shop again.
Also got e-mail re: liquidation - notice they have openly cc'd their entire customer list.
Will send an e-mail link to to forum just in case there is anyone else out there who still think these guys are genuine0 -
If it is a scam then they need reporting to companies house. This will prevent them opening more limited companies.0

Thank you, Amanda for forwarding this link. I thought I'd simply been the victim of a recession-hit business but with the insolvency doubts raised on this forum it seems the company are literally cashing in on the current climate. I reported their 'liquidation' notice to Consumer Direct and also to my bank who had already received similar complaints so it sounds as though Furniture Deal have made a mint. Can't believe they've been allowed to set up another internet business, surely there's some way of stopping them?

It is Nominet who regulate web domains in the UK. So I don't know if they can do anything about it.
Companies house can stop them setting up more limited companies.
As for the fraud. Contact Leicestershire police, and ask to speak to whoever deals with fraud.0 -
I posted on here a couple of days ago when I realized their website was no longer online. After reading this ever growing thread I phoned my bank straight away. Today I have received my disclaimer forms to sign and hopefully will get my money back on the grounds of non receivable goods.
This morning I visited their display website out of curiosity, I've just checked it again this afternoon and surprise surprise that too is no longer there. What is going on? I also think that this liquidation story is a load of rubbish.. I have had no e-mail from the so called liquidators.
I hope everyone gets their money back as this is such a scam and people who think it's not......obviously haven't lost any money or.......can afford to lose it.0 -
I am one of those people who will NOT be able to get my money back as we paid using a maestro card. Believe me the more i read about this company the angrier i get. I hope the guy who is doing this reads this because belive me this is not over by a long shot. I am 100% supportive of anybody who has been hit by this recession, that does not give ANYBODY a right to steal from another human being. As for the police getting involved, its not that easy. We have to have a bit of faith in trading standards, Im sure that like me whatever info is collected about this person/company is being saved incase the police do get involved at some point.
As for giving them the benifit of the doubt Tim, have you thought that probably everyone of us has during this time.:smileyhea0 -

I visited the Display Deal website and used the online chat with the sales/customer care team. As soon as I mentioned Furniture Deal to them they closed the website down. They also trade as Hansons Ltd based at the same FDW Warehouse in Derbyshire as Display.0
