I also paid by maestro so am very keen to take this as far as we can in the hope that we get some sort of refund- if not money then even just seeing these crooks get caught would be something.

Tim Deegan you have posted some really helpful advice and obviously know quite a bit about online business but I have to agree with the other posts who question your theory about this possibly being a legitimate recession hit company.

I had the unpleasant experience of dealing with their customer service person on more than one occasion and nothing he said ever happened the way he said it would, he lied about his name (twice), and he was aggressive and rude towards my wife when she phoned them. There was never once even a hint of remorse or apology that my goods were delayed and their behaviour since closing down this first website only strengthens my certainty that this crowd are crooks and need to be dealt with according to the law.

I'm definitely up for supplying any evidence etc. required should it come to it weeks or months down the line. I also would be happy to drive anyone from the South East for an 'away day' to Leicester for a spot of furniture shopping! I've got room for 6 angry shoppers!!

I've contacted Watchdog too.

Ronnie T, I checked the 203 Belgrave address a few days ago (Furniture Deals former accountants at the Woodgate address said that Belgrave was were they forwarded any mail onto Furniture Deal). A company called ASI Properties are based there now - somehow I think they are part of it too.

Totally agree with Efran - it's beyond the money, more of stopping these rogues from doing this again.

Well it is the same for me. Paid by maetro and doesn't look like I'll get my money back. Ordered furniture for my first house and now I'm left saving again to fit the house out. I'm all for paying these crooks a visit. If there is enough of us willing to make the journey I'll be there. I think they might think twice if this happened.

That contact number they posted on their site today actually works and
someone answered. Not that they are any help and can trust what they say. I work for the BBC, so I'll find an internal contact for watch dog and see what they say.

stewam and everyone else...we need to find out exactly what their real names are and where they live and i am more than happy to get a few people going down to pay them a visit and make them give our monies back but we need to know that its not just a fake address first. i hope these culprits get what they deserve

I would go to Leicester. I may get refunded, but feel very bruised by all this. I work part time and I'm single mummy to two little girls. I saved hard for that money and felt so happy when I finally placed my order! And now this.

I've been putting all the names into the search engine of the insolvency register and have comeup with nothing. They are certainly NOT bankrupt. Your name appears on the register within hours. Assuming there are no spelling mistakes, its just not adding up.
