or anyone interested Maestro Debit Cards, go to the Maestro Web Site they have now started a Protection for their Debit Cards and it is Free with certain businesses which they have a list of, well worth a look and sign up with them, it does not have to be a new customer you can protect your existing cards.

if the insolvency of 8 weeks is correct my order was made within the 8 weeks, could i put forward that case to the bank?

Unfortunately, I don't think they'll take the claims of others on a forum as evidence. I'm thinking now that the only way some of us will be able to provide evidence of fraud is if the IP finds evidence for wrongful trading or fraudulent trading. While I think there's a good chance this evidence is there, from what I've read, it's not likely that the IP will go down that route because they have to have the money to pursue it. That money would have to come from the assets they acquire from the liquidated business/creditors. We know fairly definitely that that money isn't there.
I think that if they were successful, the money spent on investigating could be claimed back, but they're not going to investigate unless they have very good reason to believe they'll be successful. PKF are currently only advising the directors of FD. They (or possibly another IP) will be appointed to action the liquidation next Thursday after the meeting.Only after that could wrongful (or even less likely fraudulent) trading be confirmed.
If Watchdog or Trading Standards come back with anything useful, there could be some evidence provided there. Don't know what sort of timescale that would be.
Meanwhile, I have 3 kids disappointed that they're not getting new beds/mattresses, and a toddler who will have to carry on sleeping in a cot that he's growing out of . Obviously, we all have stories like this and there are a lot of people on here who have lost money that they can't afford to lose and who can't replace the things they thought they'd bought.0 -

Is this Securecode? I already have that but it doesn't make any diffrence in this case. When I went into my bank (Natwest) the customer service operative cheerily told me that they're swapping to visa because it gives better protection.0 -

Hi Akib,
What does this bit mean? Think I may have missed something. I ordered my goods on September 3rd.
I naively thought it would be quite straightforward with Visa, but clearly it may not be. I've been thinking about my own case and how I can present it to them, but I just don't know what grounds to go on.
I cant find the address that they provided me with (luckily its on my invoice from them but can't locate it on a map thus leading me to believe it doesn't exist), if it is a fake address does that give me grounds to claim fraud? Is that fraud?
Shed my first tears over this last night (admittedly I'd been on the vin rouge). Like Coolfm said, we all have stories, but its really hitting home that its gonna be another few months to save that moeny again. I just wanted everything perfect for Christmas.0 -

I also have had problems with furniture deal...it was a nightmare at the time.
I bought a oak sideboard, matching coffee table. In just over 6-8mths the oak started to bow terribly, to the fact the doors would close and they all had a definate curve. You expect a bit in real oak but not like this. the coffee table started to crack right along the middle and there was a massive ridge down it.
I rang them...spoke to carol who says yes we will swap but odear dont have the same anymore. so exchanged it for different stuff, then came the delivery nightmare, first they said they arrived, knocked but noone in so left, no card nothing to prove this, and i was in i took day off from work to wait, and would have heard them.
so re-delivery but they lost one of the pieces in between and said they never had it and i had to wait 10wks, it took email after email, call after call, but finally they o found it again!! Then when delivery day, it never turned up!! It took months to sort!!
id never use again..

Hi the address you have was on our invoice/order document if you check on Google maps it seems to be on the corner of George street and George St comes up when you do a post code search. We sent a Breach Of Contract letter recorded delivery letter to this address and did get an electronic proof of delivery.0 -

Thanks, I've found it now. We seem to be the only people with this address on our invoice. I wonder if they have ever been based there. Seems strange not having a street number.0
