Hi all,
Having found the money had been returned back into my account I was overjoyed but arriving home there was a letter from Lloyds bank......
"I want to update you on the progress we've made with your enquiry.
We've contacted the retailer's bank to try and resolve this dispute. In the meantime we have credited your account while we investigate......
It is possible that the retailer will refund you themselves, or provide proof that the transaction is valid.
If this happens we'll need to re-debit your account - we will of course advise you before we do this.
It goes on to tell me to inform them of any new developments.
I am still waiting to hear from Morris furniture as to when they told FD that they could not be sent any goods.
When I do I will post their reply.
The card I used was a Lloyds TSB Visa Debit Card so for people using a Visa Debit card there is some hope of a return of money.
My worry now is what lies will come from FD in support of this claim.
I have just spoken to my bank HSBC today and they told me that same thing the money will be put back in my account and they will then deal with FD however if FD say its not a fraudulent then they can take the money back out again, I have told the bank that I have written evidence that FD had never placed the order with the manufacturer, the bank wants a copy of this so they have a strong case against FD0 -
I’ve managed to track down the manufacturer of the furniture I ordered from FD. They were very helpful, but unfortunately they have also received the liquidation letter and are also owed money too.
Not sure if this is classed as fraudulent activity, but I ordered the furniture on the 29th July 2009. The delivery stated 5-10 days. I emailed FD and got this response from them on the 10th of August 2009.
‘Dear Customer,
Thank you for your Email
With regards to the order you placed we are in the process of obtaining a date as to when the goods will be with us from the supplier and we will keep you informed about the progress on your order.
Thanks & Regards
Customer Service’
The manufactures informed me the order was placed with them on the 17th of August. This proves the above order wasn’t even placed when they sent this email. Later down the line the manufacturer received the liquidation letter from FD, so they cancelled all orders. Hence not receiving any goods
Was hoping to prove fraudulent activity. Does anyone know if this is?
Thanks0 -
I've spoken to the Heartlands House people who said that they were a supplier and that they still have stock, ordered by FD from 1st August onwards. It is awaiting delivery to FD but isn't paid for. As far as they're concerned, FD could still ask for it to be delivered. Obviously this isn't the case (as I'm assuming that they deliver only after payment). They couldn't tell me about the details of what was added to their order after 1st August as their system doesn't tell them that. My items are apparently not in stock with them and haven't been throughout this period.
Unfortunately that's got me nowhere. It doesn't look like I'll get any useful evidence from them to give to my bank. But it sounds like FD placed orders with them from 1st August, which they didn't pay for or request delivery of. Does that suggest that they took orders from customers with no intention of supplying the goods?0 -
I have just lost £200 for a bed frame i ordered and paid for on the 10th August with this company. I have spoken to my bank and as i used a debit card they cant help and the money is lost.
Annoyed to say the least that people like this are allowed to operate.0 -
hi guys.....i received a letter from my bank saying that I will not get my money back as i paid by maestro, as well as the fact that if the company has undergone liquidation, there is no hope of me being able to get my money back....but if the company has not actually gone into liquidation then maybe we stand a chance of getting the money back on the basis that FD didnt order any furniture from the suppliers and were therefore commiting fraud, but does anyone know of a website where i could find out who the supplier of my furniture was?0

Was it a Visa Debit?
If so, all is not lost. Most customer service staff don't even know about Chargeback. Call them again and ask to speak to someone more senior who does know about it.0 -

Here is the link for PKF
That will take you to the Leicester office page and you can send them an email direct. They are a large National company so I would perhaps deal with them via this site rather than going round the houses with FD.
Did you pay debit card too? Thats so much money to lose, we really all must stick together and try and get our dosh back.
i have emailed them to work this out and see exactly who it is that us dealing with this matter. and yes it was a debit card, and money which i need so much, but its so clear they were taking payments without intention of supplying, there must be someone who can do something about this!!0 -
hi i purchased this too, along with cameo dining suite and 4 additional chairs
hi nurse2be,
looks like we both ordered same goods, cant work out the suppliers though, i bought this as i am getting married soon, and just wanted to treat my wifre to be, but because of these low life fraudsters i may have to put wedding on hold as every penny was like gold dust and i lashed out £1300 pounds! or if it still goes ahead, instead of treating her it will be nothing at all, im so angry, somebody help!!0 -

yes i have thanks, trying my best with bank to show them that the company is commiting fraud, as they stopped completing orders in may, one person on here said he has been waiting since november, therefore this company certainly has taken payments with no intention of supplying. i have told them that, i need to forward them to this forum and they will see that there are meny people who have had orders with refund or delivery since may.
if the insolvency of 8 weeks is correct my order was made within the 8 weeks, could i put forward that case to the bank?
