NITS

do you have to boil/replace pillows? do they lay eggs in them?
sorry to sound thick but i just don't know anything about nits and it's the summer holidays so i can't ask around in the playground.
i'm using a new nit lotion at the moment, it's a 'natural' one made with coconut oil. it doesn't smell good though! it claims to dissolve the glue that sticks the nit eggs to your hair, so you can comb the eggs out as well as the dead nits. we shall see.52% tight0 -

That's a useful site Fran, thanks for info.
None of our family have ever had nits (of course we will now I've said that).
I'm really ticked off at the education authority who have advised all our local schools that they're not allowed to tell parents when there is an outbreak. Again, political correctness gone mad.
I usually check my lot fairly regularly anyway, but people would be even more vigilant if they knew that the nits were on the go again.Herman - MP for all!0 -
yes that a fab site, thanks fran. ;D0

our authority tells parents, every child in the year group gets a nit letter to bring home whenever a parent notifies the school that their child has nits.52% tight0

When I first met my partner he had a 10 year old sister living with him. We had a meal together and a louse fell on the table. He said 'nothing to do with me'. He was crawling with them.... They are massive now- nothing like they were when I was a child.... (I'm in mid 20s). It took a couple of weeks to get rid, and then I caught them just before my son was conceived. I was 8 months pregnant before they left. I combed daily, 'conditionered'/ combed when I washed hair, also had an electric zapper. I used chemicals before I knew I was pregnant, and then was told I shouldn't even use tea tree.... Nobody else had them, I think they liked my hormones! I was so relieved when they went.
Not what you want on your new baby!

Had a constant battle with headlice in my daughters long hair all the time she was in infant/junior school,
resorted to combing it every other night to keep them at bay
but from the moment she went to high school we havn't seen one, even though she mixes with same children as before :-/I am a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Wales, Small Biz MoneySaving, In My Home (includes DIY) MoneySaving, and Old style MoneySaving boards. maybe its cos as they get older, they take on responsibility for thier hair more, and won't ignore it like some parents do. my eldest never gets them now hes in top year at junior school, but got them when was younger.0

It's because as they get older they do not put their heads touching...............when little they do ::)
Other family members get them off infected young ones because they have close head contact...........cuddles.
If heads don't touch you can't get them ;D0
