I am waiting for them to contact me. My hubby has sucessfully given notice and his contract will end in under 30 days and he has been texted his pac code. I emailed 3, he had 2 painful calls from them (them trying to give his a retention deal) 2nd call resulted in 3 disconnectin the call their side. (he was courteous throughout) I emailed the excutive office complaining yesterday about this and they have call hubby back today confirming cancellation and sent him his pac code

I on the other hand have not had any calls yet, just this email.

now considering you dont get your T&C booklet out of the mobile phone box until after you sign " agreement " how can these be effective ? so unless the billing 1 minute term is ON your flimsy 1 piece of paper agreement you signed instore then how can that be plausable ?

3 stores DO NOT give a cooling off period & then after you sign the instore agreement YOU get the full T&C booklet after you sign ! so how can they enforce them on you ? by default......?

3 Stores will NOT give you a T&C booklet until AFTER you sign a " agreement " to these T&C

if it helps move your contract to a mates/relatives address NORTH of the border & ASAP & call Consumer Direct Scotland giving your address as the SCOTS*one tell CD the above & they'll back you up alright.....Scots law protects consumers more than English

for the record IF they have to LEGALLY give you notice of the change as it effects you, LEGALLY you can give them notice within 30 days from the DAY you recieve that notice, 3 really have invalidated thier own PRICEPLAN guide from NOV 07 - if you got THAT letter addressed to YOU the account holder YOU can cancel, they gave you the notice to your detriment, you have 30 days to accept or decline.....

FULL SPEED AHEAD PEEPS ( I love it ! I had the Orange LEGAL team going round in hoops 4 times round the 07744 issue ! pompus overpaid !!!!! backed down ( each time ) to a person who has NO legal training !!! its all how you deliver it to them with a little knowledge, its how you read T&C and contest them.....

it would be interesting to see how many people who've been able to cancel were before oct 07,please post here all those who've been successful(if you're still reading this thread!?)
From reading most of the posts it appears to be random,lots seem to have wriggled out of fairly new contracts,am I just not scary enough!?

If this only affects people pre-Oct 2007, why isn't the change in one-minute billing stated on the Nov 2007 T&C's, yet they have managed to state this change on the August 2008 T&C's?

This is something that they are fobbing us all of with. They have set a precedent that they are more than capable of terminating contracts within the contract period penalty-free, and we need to battle this with 3.

If we could get the support from someone more senior, then it would be great! Otherwise, the 3 Exec Office are going to have fun receiving all these emails, the Glasgow office receiving all our Recorded Delivered letters, and the Call Centre having fun receiving our phone calls... all in all, 3 are losing out either way!

If all else fails, Otelo should be able to help.

I am counting on Otelo (or even Ofcom) to rescue me, seeing as 3 are not willing to budge!

I brought the issue up here too, I was NOTED on my a/c these changes were not happening on 30/6 & " if they do ~I can leave penalty free ", while you are all arguing 3, i took action almost 2 months ago when I first alerted MSE to the matter, good luck all anyway, they just moved the goalposts ie...the dates, it was I whom informed 3 we all needed notice to such a change by emailing the Exec Office, they did so as I stated to Exec that doing so would allow ALL non MnM customers to walk FREE of any commitment as the change was never notified as per the T&C
