Three Itemised Billing Charges (merged threads)

Was wondering if someone could give me some advice whether I'm eligible to cancel my account with three. I've been on the mix & match 1100 plan since late march. Is it possible to cancel my account based on the grounds that:
"From 23rd September 2008, any calls lasting 60 seconds or less will be rounded up to a minute. After the first minute, you’ll get charged for the rest of the call per second. There’s no change for calls made before 23rd September 2008."
I read on a previous post that calls made on this account, were always rounded up to the nearest minute. Is this true? By the way I haven't received any letter highlighting this change yet
Cheers
Damian
I took out a M&M 1100 contract in May and got a letter a couple of days ago. It didn't mention anything about calls being rounded up to a minute, only the itemised billing charge.
So I assume that our calls are already rounded up which is a shame really!0 -

Yeah I think you're right as I've just checked a few of my previous bills and the minimum call length is always 1min - no less
Is there any other way I am eligible to cancel? Will the changes to the itemised billing charge not allow me to do so?

That's the question I'm waiting to find the answer to lol.
I've not read about anyone being able to cancel due to the itemised billing charge so I'm not holding my breath!0 -
i've been on three over 2 years and upgraded to my new deal in January this year.
Think it's worth giving it a try ?0 -
Am I wasting my time sending a letter if only the itemised billing charges affect me?
I did send a e-mail yesterday but by the looks of things, my changes of cancelling are pretty much nil!
In your letter, tell them that BOTH new conditions are a detrimental variation for you. A 2 pronged attack is always better than 1!
Actually, the new 59 or less rule will affect everyone. How many times have you rung someone, and they've been un-available and it's gone straight to answerphone, then you put the phone down without leaving a message? I do it quite a lot. Each of those 3 second call will now mean 1 minute deducted from my allowance. I may not go over my limit, but the potential is there! I got 750 mins on my plan so i didn't have to worry about going over limit.0 -

Thanks for your reply.
I meant the rounding up to a minute doesn't affect me because my calls are already rounded up.
Sorry, I should have been a bit clearer!0 -

Are there different versions of the letter? I am on Mix and Match 500 and it mentioned the rounding up and itemised billing charge? Seems strange that they would send you an important changes letter (their words) if it did not apply to you anyway (they can clearly differentiate between different customers, otherwise we would all get the same bill each month ).
So, has anyone managed to get out of the contract on Itemised Billing alone ...?

I have just emailed three again as apparently they did not receive my email. Got back an automated letter about charges for cancellation so have replied again quoting the terms and conditions.Self Employed, Running my Dream Jobs0

I originally got that email too, I replied and a few hours later got the callback, after the callback, (which I recorded- because they will try lying if they think they can get away with it) I emailed the exec office and got the std thank you for your email it will take five days to investigate etc, am now awaiting the outcome of that letter. I ahve checked my bill and have not been previously on the one minute billing system, but it would affect me greatly putting me over my free mins some months. I counted over 146 calls of less than one min duration. Keep trying. good luck.:D0 -

Yes, there are different versions of the letter. Mine doesn't have the paragraph about the rounding up which is why I'm assuming that my calls are already rounded up. I don't actually check my bills that closely as I never go over my minutes.I've been looking for one of my bills but I think I've already shredded them. Doh!
My billing date is tomorrow so I should get a bill through soon & I'll be able to double check.
I'd also like to know if anyone has cancelled due to the itemised billing charge!0
