    ......, clauses 4.2 and 10.1d still applies.

    Any thoughts?

Clause 10.1 d says if you want to cancel:

You must give written notice to 3 Customer Services

So why are you wasting all this time and stress trying to give in your notice verbally?

Am I wasting my time sending a letter if only the itemised billing charges affect me?

I did send a e-mail yesterday but by the looks of things, my changes of cancelling are pretty much nil!

I was hoping someone could help me ,i too got the letter ,but i only joined 3 in june ,i am on video talk 500 plus , £25 pound a month on a 12 month contract, is it worth me trying ,thanks
  • after spending yet another pointless hour on the phone to a manager, he told me that since the beginning of my contract in january in their price guide which is found on the website it's always stated that itemised billing would cost £1 but was free until a future date to be confirmed. since i no longer have a price guide from january, can anyone confirm this? he said nothing would be changing because they've always said that it would be £1 at a later date and that i signed a contract when it said that.

the price has always been a rolling date (continually moving foward when its reached) however they are now applying the fee and after october it Will be charged.

It seems he has actually got a good point, in january it would have said free until july 08

  • I got a letter from them a few days ago about the itemised billing. I didn't pay too much attention to it but I'll go and dig it out now as I'd love to get out of this contract.

I was contacted by three and told that none of the charges, i.e itemised billing or the rounding up of call charges would be applied to my account.
  • I took out a contract with Three on 30th July.
I have a complained over the "Full" internet access that I was promised and charged for with an internet max add-on.
Full access my R's, The slightest hint of any adult conent and I am redirected to their adult restricted area.
I also have what is described on my receipt as a 5 GBP Video pack.
I made a video call and I was charged!!
After speaking to their customer services, I was told that the 5GBP could only be used when calling other Three mobiles. This is not stipulated anywhere in the Small print or on the website.
I have not received a letter but will this change allow me to cancel my contract?
  • I called up this afternoon. from my land line(using saynoto0870) as I was sure call would go for about an hour and last thing I wanted is that call disconnects when my turn comes. Anyway, I opted for cancelation and call went to a lady (after holding for 25 minutes) and explain that i would like to excercise clause 10.1(d). all the excuse like we were the only provider that offered you per second call etc etc. I said no and I wan tto cancel. after some argument she said she is transfering to cancelation dept (funny isn't it ).
anyway after another 25 minute hold finally managed to get hold of a person who argued and said i can't cancel my contract or i have to pay early termination fee.
I read out the last sentence (from the 3 website link given in this forum) and read out confidently and repeated the last line "no cancellation fee will apply (whatever)" 3 times. the person on the other side thought i am reading from my original terms and condition :)
he then asked when I recieved my letter and I said it was printed on 5th August but I recieved yesterday. he put me on hold for another 15 minutes and then said I can't terminate my contract as there was another letter sent last month ( refused and challanged him) he then gave up and said he can compensate me give me half price line rental + £5 off but only for next month. i said i am disappointed and feel insulted. I need my PAC code now. he then said it will be with me in next 12 hours.
    easy isn't it.

    I joined on 5th sep 07 £20 for 500 mins + 100 txt.

    Weopen they tried
    • you can't cancel your contract as who joined before 10th october 2007 (or something like that) have a clause in their terms and condition that they can change terms and condition. my answer impossible and atleast I cannot find anything here can you point me the clause.
    • every network follows the same billing process etc. my answer was but they are cheaper and provide better network coverage.
    • hold your line for long so either you will give up or your mobile battery will run out.
    • we sent you letter last month so you are out of one month notice. challenge them.
    • you don't use that many minutes. I challanged this argument
friends don't give up and ask for your pac.
    hope it help you
  • Was wondering if someone could give me some advice whether I'm eligible to cancel my account with three. I've been on the mix & match 1100 plan since late march. Is it possible to cancel my account based on the grounds that:

"From 23rd September 2008, any calls lasting 60 seconds or less will be rounded up to a minute. After the first minute, you’ll get charged for the rest of the call per second. There’s no change for calls made before 23rd September 2008."

I read on a previous post that calls made on this account, were always rounded up to the nearest minute. Is this true? By the way I haven't received any letter highlighting this change yet

    Cheers
    Damian
