i'm going to try to cancel too. but first I'm going to wait until I recieve my cashbacks on the phones. I sent them away on Tuesday. My letter is dated the 6th August. I started the 18 month contract in Feb this year on 1100 mix and match.
WIll ring up first 333 and then write a letter to the UK address if no success on the phone.
What do people think my chances are?0 -
I have just contacted Three on 333 and advised I wished to cancel my contract because of the 1 minute billing. I am on the 250 mins 50 texts for £15. When I checked how many calls under a minute and also to Voicemail I used I advised this latest billing change would put me over my minutes . I quoted the terms and conditions about contacting them within 30 days of a variation to my detriment and requested to cancel without a fee. This was refused. I am 13 months into an 18 month contract. Any suggestions? Also recommendations for a better deal than I have above?
Refused on what grounds? The T & C's say you can cancel if a change to your contact is detremental to you - you don't ask them you TELL them. The problem comes when you ask for a PAC code - they have manned the desks in Bombay with experts trained is trying to tell you NO, NO ,NO - be strong - I think this is one for MARTIN0 -
NO NO No is not a word they seem to have any understanding of, they have been trained differently to normal overseas sickly fawning desperate to please staff, these guys have been trained to be rude, aggressive condescending and downright obstinate.
I have emailed the exec office and received the std reply ..... 5 days ....blah blah blah, if that doesnt work then it will have to be Martin or Watchdog or something cos they will not budge.0 -
Hooray after being on the phone for over an hour to there customer services this morning and another 45 minutes tonight they've agreed that I am in my rights to cancel he then went on for 10 minutes about the discount i was already getting and the benefits of staying with 3, I think I must of told him at least a dozen times i just wish to cancel this contract ....and in the end he cancelled it for me.:D
Dont use the itemized billing charge as they will not budge on that use the charge by the minute increase.0 -

Have you asked them for a PAC code? That's where they say 'No charge to exit your contract cos we are in the wrong' but if you want a PAC code we will charge you something silly, in my case £501 - they can wish and expect ofcom to come down like a tonne of bricks - i'll exit my contract on the 14 sep like they say and now fight for the PAC code hehe - still think MARTIN would like this one0 -
Thank you C.
I called them back and argued with a woman for 30 mins. I asked to be put through to cancellations and got the same man I previously spoke to. He grovelled an apology, saving he got it wrong, and immediately cancelled my contract, nothing to pay, and gave me my PAC code. RESULT!!!!!!!
how long is your contract and how long left do you have, if you dont mind me askingMummy to Emily age 6 and mummy to Blake age 2

Hi guys,
Have just spoken to 3 customer services and I had the following reaction:
I said
they were breaking the contract agreement
under article 10.1(d), they could not add a cost for the itemised billing.
the rolling minutes were a change to my contract
They said
the rolling minutes were changed in Dec 2007.
itemised billing was not a reason to cancel the contract and that I would have to pay a cancellation fee of £351.
I then asked for the guys name and title and also that of his Line Manager which he duly gave me. I said that I would be contacting Ofcom about the issue and complaining.
It seems that they are withstanding the onslaught now. I had absolutely no response from the cancellation dept and the guy appeared to be confident that I had no leg to stand on.
It seems that I will have to contact Ofcom but has anyone else had any success after 21:15 tonight or have a way ahead for me?
Cheers and good luck0 -
Windyseddon - I was almost 15 months into an 18 month contract. Persevere with them they can get really shirty.
Off-topic I know, but does anyone know what/where the best deal is with a free Nintendo DS and free LG Viewty? All the deals seem to be pretty expensive...0 -
I've added to the other thread. Just called them and they will not let me cancel.
I didn't think this is a "letting you" sort of deal, I would have thought this was a right of yours as part of the terms of the agreement and that you can demand it.
Ignore what the chap on the phone says (haven't these customer service types got a history of saying anything, true or otherwise, to stop people from cancelling a contract?), send Three a letter (make sure it is delivered signed for so that you have proof of delivery) stating your request to cancel and a PAC code to be sent to you and see what happens.*I reserve the right to have an opinion, the right to change this opinion and the right to be wrong.*Hope that helps. It's obvious what 3 are doing - they are just fobbing off the weak. Call their bluff, send a letter to H/O via record delivery, and TELL them you're cancelling the contract due to them changing it. Invite them to take you to court if they think they're in the wrong.0
