more important to me was the change in billing for calls as from 23 sept i would go onto per minute billing instead of per second.
i have 4 contracts with 3 so that is a lot for me per year.
ARE THEY IN BREACH OF CONTRACT?
just had long phone call with 3 i can cancel because of the minute calling,
however might have worked a deal to have immediate upgrade to nokia n95 8gb as compensation.
sell on e bay and pay off contract +make £100 bargain. will let you know on monday they are going to phone me back :rotfl:0 -
i got a call they told me i cannot cancel due to the fact i upgraded after august 2007 ...and if i hadnt they would of had no problem doing so....by that i mean cancel without a termination fee....
The guy tried to tell me that it was under regulation that they do these changes,
Hes suppose to call me back in 3 days time, im not too sure why ....0 -

I did not receive a letter but went to the website address http://three.co.uk/billingchanges
I started a contract in January. Was told by 3 (after half an hour on phone) that my contract had always charged for the full initial minute, then by the second afterwards.
Apparently my original contract allowed for the possibility of charging for itemised billing. I don't have the original contract (I got current phone as extension to previous 3 contract).
It appears they may just be changing things for older customers.
Has anyone who took out a contract relatively recently been successful? Does anyone think it would be worth writing a letter (with reference to the itemised billing only?)0 -
njp - I'm in pretty much the same situation. I tried telling them that I wasn't made aware of the changes in t&c when I got a new phone/plan from them but like you also gave up at this point.
Maybe it would be worth writing stating clearly that this was the case?0 -
i have 2 contracts 1 my sons which is on a mix and match and was told straight away this one was not eligibale because it states billed by the miniute but mine was an upgrade of my old contract he agreed i had every right to cancel but when they rang me back to say i had to pay to get out
she told me contracts taken before october 2007 could cancel anthing after tough but my issue is if people were told about the new terms why are they sending out these letters0 -
I called Three and got my PAC code this afternoon. The man on the phone said the contract would be cancelled as soon as the number has been transferred to a new network.
I spent approx 20 minutes on hold but once I got through to someone, it was fairly painless. The guy I spoke to didn't put up a fight with regards to my rights to cancel. At first he claimed it was taking a few minutes to open my account, just delaying tactics I think. After that, he tried to get me agree to a new contract but I just politely, but firmly, said no each time until he gave in. My contract was due to end in November and I'm a light user, I think that may have played a part in the (relative) ease I had compared to some other posters in this thread.
Good luck to everyone, I'm off to hunt for a new payg or contract deal.0 -
i have even asked them for a copy of my terms and conditions for when i took the upgrade but they dont have them that it is a surprise they dont have a complaints department either i think i will just give up0

When I got a new phone with Mix and Match it was an upgrade from an old 3 contract. I kept the same sim, and as far as I recall didn't sign anything new. I assumed the T&C were as before.0
