I haven't. Did it come with a bill or something?

No a letter on its own, saying that I hold two contracts and only received one letter. So its not everyone yet.

    Dear Mr Diamonds

I’m sorry to hear that you’re unhappy about the £1 charge for
    itemised bills.

We always make sure to give you prior notice and this is in keeping
with our terms as you’ve rightly observed in the parts 4, 4.1b (ii) and
10.1(d). Our decision to charge for paper bill is only in keeping with
the industry standard of paperless transaction.

You will be happy to know that we are one of the companies who have
decided to positively contribute to the global cause of paperless
transaction. We reserve the right to change the policy and procedures outlined
in our terms and condition document.

I urge you to see the benefits of switching to ebills. It’s not only
environment friendly but safe and secure as well.

Your contract isn’t due to end until 7 December 2008. I understand
your reasons for wanting to cancel, but if you close your account and
obtain Port Authorisation Code (PAC) now, you’ll have to pay your
remaining line rental in advance. If you don’t want to pay this you can
contact us 30 days before the contract end date.

I hope my explanation clarifies our stand in this matter. For any more
questions please call us on 333 from a 3 phone (free) or 08707 330333
(national rate) and we’ll be happy to assist you.

Your views and opinions are important to us. Please take two minutes to

Your feedback will help us deliver a better customer experience.

    REPLIED:

    Hi Imran,

I have already had it confirmed by a manager I spoke to the other day that I could cancel if I wished to do so due to the T&C change, as I have no working 3 handset for over 6 months I cannot call 333, niether can I call a 0870 number from my business mobile. Technical were unable to resolve my handset issue, please forward PAC asap as manager advised I could cancel.

well , i had a very different response today

phoned up to cancel and was passed from pillar to post , but eventually got through to customer options team , who tried every underhand trick to get me to stay - stating that i hardly had any calls which were under a minute , that every other network charges for itemised billing and that three were still the best value network. then telling me i could cancel my contract , but not until the 25th of this month !

he then asked me to stay on the line for a minute( i had already been on for 34mins)
came back and offered me a £10 discount per month - for the remaining 11 months of my contract. he started bleating on about what a tremendous saving this would be £110.........
i mentioned that it would actually only be £99 , as i would be paying £1 per month for itemised billing to which he offered to credit me an extra £11 .

have told him I'll think about it , but i still think i'm going to cancel.

Three have added on a clip when dialling 333 stating that their systems are down and their customer advisors cannot access any customer information.

Probably due to loads of customers calling about this and cancelling. I was told that I can cancel without a fee and would be issued with a PAC via text and in the post.... nothing received yet.

Will call them again tomorrow and complain that I want my PAC asap, and will be cheeky enough to ask for free line rental as "I've bought a new contract with another network whose systems work"
