Im stuck with my contract till Feb 09 signed an 18 month with them, am on phone now TRYING to get out of it, dount i can, in on £35.00 PM contract.

theyve had a huge amount of calls and to be honest its really hard to understand the customer services as theyre in India, they cant understand what im trying to say,

Ive given in, they can offer me a new 12 month contract if i buy then new phone off them, line rental £25.00 PM phone cost £86.00 or i can pay over £200.00 to get out of this contract

THREE you win!! OP you done well to get out of your contract :)

    roll on Feb 09

You really do have to battle with them, even though they are so politely stupid, i was on the phone a good 40 mins.
After getting the agent to understand the letter I was on about, I then tried to make her agree with me they had changed the contract, and under the following article of THERE own T&C's, I am within my rights to cancel my contract, the penny did not drop until I asked if she had a copy of the T&C's, and if she could politely read the one mentioned, once she did, she agreed I was well within my rights, and she passed me directly through to cancellations.

Hope this helps, if not, pass my your account details and ring up for everyone, I love a good argument!!

I was passed through to cancellations, and she told me i wasnt within my right to cancel, was on the phone easily 30 mins, i could feel myself getting really angry grrrr

ive had the letter but it went through the wash in my jeans pocket :(

thanks for your help anyway :)
  • after an hour and twenty minutes on the phone to 5 different people, i was told i could not cancel my contract as the only people who the letter applies to are those who took out a contract before oct 2007. Mine started march 2008. (prob lies). I thought i didnt stand a chance over getting anywhere. I said to them i will be greatly affected by the 1 min minimum call and he had the cheek to say you only used 400 mins last month so cant see how this will be a prob. How cheeky ha ha they have an answer for everything. I asked him are there any contract available with unlimited txt (which i use tonnes of) and he said no so i quickly checked on line and told him he was lying so he back down and changed my price plan to unlimited txts and 750 mins and works out better and 10 pond less than what i am on now so happy with that. He tried to say there would be a £145 charge for this and i told him to see me in court , and that my husband was a solicitor and this would be no bother what so ever. So he said out of good will they would leave this charge. (biggest load of crap ever)

Make sure when you call you have the answers ready for them coz obviously they are going to try everything to wangle out of it.

    Good luck to all

when i contract is finally over in sept 2009 it will be bye bye three from me no matter how cheap they are.... THEY ARE RUBBISH

Its the "Way we charge calls" paragraph wecan get them on.

    Now article 10.1 (d), states -
Within one month of a detrimental variation to your agreement. You can end the agreement within one month of us telling you about a variation to your agreement (which includes your Price Plan) which is likely to be of detriment to you

The whole paragraph explains exactly the reason why you are entitled to cancel, as you where charge per second, now a 10 second call costs you a minute, if that doesn't have a detrimental affect on your pocket, then you have got to much dough and should keep the contract your on.

Just called and was told that I could cancel with effect from 22nd Sept (new charges take start 23rd) without giving 30 days notice. I was offered 'new deal' as per web site but refused; I have now got my PAC and await a call from them. Have to wait and see if they offer me a deal worth staying for, or I'm off.

Still no reply to my last email and usually they call me within a few hours after I email them, they are obviously struggling to keep up with all the cancellation requests.

I had a reply from their executive office telling me they are investigating and will be in touch with me in 5 days within under an hour of sending the email.

I got the letter dated 4th Aug, I didnt bother trying to phone them because of all the hassle people are having. I just sent them a cancellations letter quoting T&C 4.1b and 10.1d (recorded delivery) and sent an email at the same time too. We'll see what happens.

As far as I'm aware, if you contact Three via the email function, you're going through to India. This happened a couple of years ago, so you're maybe best emailing the Exec Office directly.
