Jez, so you managed to cancel your contract on the itemised billing issue only? this is what i want to do, did you just ring the 333 number off your mobile?

    Hi all,

Seems like a number of you are still having problems cancelling the contract based on this change. I missed a call from 3 this afternoon and they left a voicemail. As polite as I am, I telephoned them back, and asked what the call was about. The somewhat helpful guy said that their systems were down and for me to call them after 1 hour, but I said that it's in THEIR best interest to phone ME!

He's taken my number and am looking forward to them phoning me. Yesterday, they agreed to cancel my contract with no fee, based on me disputing that the Itemised Billing affected me.

I haven't written this to them in writing, but guess that I should do, to have this confirmed.

On HUKD there is a similar thread and one poster has just managed to get a deal from three to stay, he got a new phone and a new contract. So it may be worth holding out to see if you get offered a better deal. Maybe CS will call everyone who cancels and offer incentives to stay?

Same thing happened to mei. I mentioned that this letter i have received is a change of contract, he took me mobile number and said (rather swiftly), "Our systems are down - can you ring back in an hour?". This was around 1915h this evening.

I am going to ring back tomorrow morning.

    Guys,

I rang them up, you dont need a letter, and yes you get a pac code, also you cant start a new contract with 3.

Letter arrived today - on Mix and Match 500 therefore don't believe I can use the rounded up to per minute.

Billing only issue (as you can log in and still see your fully itemised bill) seems shaky grounds, but if it is a change in contract (it is) then could be an okay. Will be interested to see more success stories before I get round to it.

Qwerty, yes I called 333 and said I wanted to leave cause of itemised billing charge and also per minute billing. Pressed option 1, 1, 3, and 4 if I remember correctly (then the option to leave).

The itemised billing issue is still a detrimental change if its something you require and were offered when you took the contract?

No, when i spoke to Three this morning, they said they haven't broken their terms and conditions because they are still offering free itemised billing, except it's in a different format, and it's up to me as the customer whether i accept the free itemised e-bills or i pay for a paper bill. They seem to think that the itemised bill is not part of the agreement, as it only compromises the handset, the contract and the price plan. I spoke to three different managers and a floor manager in disconnections, and none of them would budge on this fact. I was on the phone for about 1 hour. They don't see it as a detrimental charge as i have been notified of the change and offered the choice of formats for my itemised billing, and i was told that i would have a fully itemised bill online, so i should print it out instead which the manager said will be less than £1 a month.

I don't know whether to ring directly back to disconnections another day or just accept the fact they won't let me cancel without charge  it's very very annoying that they're letting some people cancel and some people not, although it seems like it's only those who are affected by both the call rounding and the itemised billing that are being allowed to terminate... i don't know.
