Am being told by an arrogant cancellation staff that

The itemised billing was being provided asd an additional benefit:mad:

And therefore I have to pay early termination charge.

Apparently they have received lots of calls

I'm waiting for the letter to arrive before I phone and cancel. My answer to that would be that if it was an additional benefit it should be shown on the bill even if it was:

    Itemised Billing: £0.00

    Hi

What address do you have to send your letter to and does this apply to their Mix & Match plans?

    Thanks
  • Hi,

I have sent 3 an email regarding these changes in Ts & Cs, i have also received this letter dated the 5th August 2008.
However seeing as i am in credit (£522 given to me by 3 in June 2007 which is now down to £66) and is due to end in Jan, i am trying to wangle a new handset and tariff with 3 to stay with them....... and have threatened to cancel without penalty if i don't get a new early deal...

Thanks to everyone for giving me the ammo to hit 3 with, and i'll let you know the results

    Ade

I had a bit of a nightmare with 3 too.
I signed up with 3 on what i thought was a 12 month contract.
After a year i rang up to cancel and was told i was actually on an 18-month contract.
I tried to look for my paperwork, but had moved house since then and couldnt find it, so i called up again and asked them for a copy of the contract i had signed, to prove i was on an 18-month contract. They said they didn't keep copies, and neither did the retailer ("Phones 4U").
In the end, they couldnt prove i was on an 18-month contract, so they let me go after 12 months.

From what I've read Three are making 2 changes to the T&Cs - £1 charge for itemised billing and rounding up to the nearest minute ie. 5 second call would now be charged for a full minute.

They are not allowing people to cancel the contract re the itemised billing, however, you can for the change to the per minute charge.

You're probably best waiting until you receive a letter to make sure it affects you.

    Their address is -

    3 Customer services
    Hutchison 3G UK Ltd
    PO Box 333
    Glasgow
    G2 9AG
  • Yes, it is the per minute charge that contravenes their T&C's

Hmm, this is an interesting one isnt it. I have a Three branded N95. I am on their mix and match 300, which costs me about £30 pcm. Now, if it wasnt for the phone it would be a poor value contract, but I am happy with the phone (contrary to most i know). If i cancel with them, Presumably I will lose all the 3 applications, will this apply to sat nav / navigration etc. And will it work on another network, cos it is branded???

Im afraid this is one of those areas that im not clear about and I just know that a phone call to India will leave me more confused than ever!!! Anyone offer any words of advice (havent even received the letter yet!!!)

    TIA:beer:

I would quite like that too, rather than leaving would be happy to accept a new phone and change of tariff but how to go about it?
