yeah its horrible. we have 2 contracts, one is mine and one is my mum's. shes on direct talker 1000 and i'm on mix and match 300. i want to cancel mine but she's happy with hers, but the frustrating thing is that they said she can cancel hers becuase of the one minute thing, but not me because my tariff's been like it all along!! argh. and my mum doesnt want to cancel hers to have mine. damn it
but yeah, i really dont think it works cancelling just with the billing, but if anyone does then post your success story! the most i got out of them was a credit of £1 to make up for the bills each month. i told them to keep it, its both humiliating and insulting. scumbags0 -
I got the letter yesterday, even though it was dated 4th August, mmm does it take long to deliver a letter from Glasgow to Yorkshire? I think not but that’s a sizeable chunk of the 30 days notice now gone.
Anyway, i speat most of yesterday being promised callbacks because the system was down/being upgraded.
I called back this morning as i never received any of my promised callbacks & after an hour of arguing/being placed on hold i was told i must write to Glasgow.
Has anyone managed to get their contracts cancelled via writing to them yet? If so can could post some rough guidelines of what to put in the letter as i feel 3 are just going to drag their heels with this one & when it gets to 30 days they'll just say "tough luck", in an Indian accent.0 -
Right! I've got it.
Apparently you can't use the itimised billing as an excuse to get out of the contract, but you can use the first minute billing thing fine!
What I did was I called up and said I wanted to cancel because of the first minute billing. I also mentioned that I was very unimpressed at the itimised billing thing, but that wasn't really the reason.
Then they procedded to give me a HUGE sales rant. Which I listened to and listened some more...and a bit more...until I think I had demoralisd him to the point were he just conceeded and said yes I was able to cancel for free!
So now i'm going to sell my 6500 Slide, in Black, and get an iPhone..Unlimited actual internet...yes please!
Any questions just let me know0 -
My husband has just been told he cant get out of his to September 2009 as he agreed to these changes when he agreed to another 18 months 6 months ago, not he asked if everything would stay the same so how did he agree?
Just been through his last itemised bill and he had 111 calls less than a minute in fact less than 10 seconds so he will definitely go over his allowance.0 -
Question: I'm on Mix and Match 1100 and signed up approx 10 weeks ago. Can I site the per minute billing or the £1 itemised billing change in order to get out of my contract? Or am I stuffed, lol? TIA!Call me Carmine....

Well you're in the same boat as me & I'm wondering the same question lol. I'm 3 months in to my Mix & Match 1100.
Have you received the letter? It didn't say anything about the minute billing so I'm assuming that it doesn't apply to us & ours is already rounded up to the minute?
I've sent an e-mail through My3 & I'm going to stick a letter in the post tomorrow but tbh, I think we're stuffed lol!0 -
don't watse time calling them...simply send them a letter (use the example above).
This so much easier....no muppets, quicker, proof, etc
Never, ever bother trying to settle things on the phone...it's a waste of effort.0 -
Hmm
i want to have my phone and tariff modified by 3, but they aren't interested....... i started my contract in July 2007, and they will not hear of any sort of alteration until December 1st...
I was hoping i could use this change in conditions as a "way out", and i have mailed them thru my3, twice with no response....... i get the feeling i will be fobbed off with something like "these changes dont affect you" although the per minute billing will...
Originally when the Indian guy phoned me back in July 2007 i was told that i could have an 18 month talk and text contract for only £18, to be paid in the last month of the contract, and was then given £522 credit, deducted at £30 a month....... now i have been on the phone for hours trying to tell them my contract is going to end up costing me about £53 because it doesnt end until jan 1st 2009..........and ther is only £66 left on it.........but they will have non of it....... they lie and bleet on in such a way that i don't even know who i am in the end...
but thats another story........ i am just sick of being confused by the non stop going around in circles, getting nowhere, and not understanding their bloomin accents... of 3 customer (dis) service..
Arrgghh :mad:0 -
This is brilliant information!!! Thank you all. could I just ask, does this price change apply to all monthly paid contracts? I haven't had a letter as yet but am wanting to cancel my contract with 3 so may just see if I can 'wing' it??0

I've just called them. After 20 mins of politely arguing, speaking to 2 people and being put on hold a lot, I eventually got put through to the cencellations department (they originally told me I had to write, so keep asking to be put through) and the cancellation dept cancelled the contract (with no fees/charges) without a real argument. I even got a PAC code!
iPhone here I come0
