I got told its not my tarriff and its mainly mix n match
They tried to tell me that the letter I received did not apply to my contract until I said I wanted his response in writing as prevous experience with 3 customer services had proved that some call handlers tell porkies. He then said it did apply. I am not on a mix and match plan! They will try anything to keep you - you just have to be strong and quote their own T & C's to them0 -
so correct me if I'm wrong...
both myself and my partner took a contract out with phones4u with 3 in Feb this year. An 18 month contact, the 1100 minutes one. I have just sent the last cashbacks for them on tuesday this week. I have recieved this letter too about changes to the minutes but didn't think anything of it. If I ring up and cancel for both of our phones, then
monthy payment of £35 x 7 months (feb to August) = £245
then we got £45 back each when we took the phone out and in the next few weeks we will get our 2nd cashback totaling £210 for each phone.
so ...
we will have paid £245
and would of had back £255  :j :j
my letter is dated the 6th August. so if I wait for the cashbacks to come back and put them in the bank asap. wait for them to clear and then ring up and cancel both contracts on the 5th of September we will have had
£10 each
1000 minutes or texts free for 7 months each
and 2 free LG viewty which can then be sold for £91 each :T :rotfl: :rotfl: CEX site
am I right? please correct mw if you think this can not be done.
I will then take a new contract out thou, thou probably again with three0 -
I've just tried to cancel my 3 contract. I'm 15 months into an 18 month contract and the guy I eventually got through to said I would have to buy out the remaining months on my contract. I told him all about the letter about changes to the t&c's and he said they have the right to do this. I ended up putting the phone down on him as he just kept repeating "you will have to pay, you will have to pay" again and again, regardless of what I said. Help!!0

I threatened the guy that I will claim £600 minimum from them and made him write it on the notes. Considering on putting through a MCOL claim, but before that, will put it in writing to them confirming breach of contract stating their T&C's.
You'll probably want to go to ADR (Otelo or CISAS) before MCOL.0 -
I have just contacted Three on 333 and advised I wished to cancel my contract because of the 1 minute billing. I am on the 250 mins 50 texts for £15. When I checked how many calls under a minute and also to Voicemail I used I advised this latest billing change would put me over my minutes . I quoted the terms and conditions about contacting them within 30 days of a variation to my detriment and requested to cancel without a fee. This was refused. I am 13 months into an 18 month contract. Any suggestions? Also recommendations for a better deal than I have above?Self Employed, Running my Dream Jobs0

Thanks - Was on the phone for 45 minutes and could cancel (Was telling me about the October 2007 crap).
I have this contract for 3 years now and really wanted to cancel.
I have a credit of £60 (as part of an original deal and my contract was going to expire in December 2008).0 -

Advise them that this is the law and it clearly states in the 3 terms and conditions you may cancel at no charge.
If no joy ask for the persons full name, their official job title and their immediate supervisers name. Tell them you are going to report them to ofcom for breaking their own T&Cs and not adhering to contract law. Tell them you will further be asking for compensation via ofcom for the time, effort, stress and upset this is causing you.
Ask them to make a note on your account on their system of the time of this call and that you were requesting to cancel the contract at no charge as per T&C but this request was denied by XXXX(call centre persons name). You want this note on the account so that when Ofcom conduct their investigation there will be a clear record of the time you called, which was within 1 month of the notification. Further, request a written record to be sent to you, noting the request and time of call and that the request was denied. Tell them you want this to send to Ofcom as evidence of your complaint.
They should then cave in. If they then still deny you, they've got more b**ls than I did when I worked in a call centre! And you can still make your complaint via Ofcom believing that 3 are breaking their T&Cs and contract law.0 -
i started to look in to this and 3 have been chaging me hole 1st minuits since march?
what plan where you on?

I've added to the other thread. Just called them and they will not let me cancel.
I have had another chat with the people from Bombay - they have obviously got very scarred - they have now put their top people on this - the reason I rang them was to ask for a PAC code - as soon as asked for this the man in Bombay said that indeed I had been given incorrect information and my contract was not cancelled - I had to go through the full story again - like normalhe then said that I would have to pay £501 to get a PAC code even though he accepted that my contract was cancelled from next month withouit a charge. I rasked him to reconfirm 'no charge and contact finishes in sep# he said yes, I then accused him of holdng my telephone number to ransom for £501, he explained that this was information he had received from his head office in Glasgo in the UK - I told him that only a couple of people know my number so his (3 UK) plan had failed - WHAT CAN i SAY - I won't

Thank you C.
I called them back and argued with a woman for 30 mins. I asked to be put through to cancellations and got the same man I previously spoke to. He grovelled an apology, saving he got it wrong, and immediately cancelled my contract, nothing to pay, and gave me my PAC code. RESULT!!!!!!!0
