k750man wrote:I took out an orange contract 13 months ago now. I paid one month in advance on my contract. I got a bill in for the last month of my contract which was paid for already. I phoned orange CS and they told me to pay the extra month in case I went over my monthly allowance and then if they owed me any money afterwards they'd pay me back. I didn't go over my allowance and thus phoned orange CS today to arrange for my refund. The chap informed me that I had to go back to the Orange shop where I got the phone originally and they would refund me the money and if they wouldn't then I was to phone CS again and then they'd arrange a refund. !!!!!! is this all about? I pay orange for my monthly contract therefore why can't they just give me my money back?
Once again - !!!!!! CS from orange!
howdy
I've worked for Orange CS for 7 years nearly so must apologise to u k750dude, biggest problem we have had for a while is the number of calls going to "offshore" and they just haven't got a clue mate sorry, at least I hope this is where your call went, but some of the new starters are dragged off the street and stuck online with s*** training. Give u an example of what u should have been told... your contract term ends 15th Feb, you give 30 days notice on 15th Jan, bill date is 1st of month... you will get a bill on 1st Feb billing you the usual month advance, coz billing system isn't told you are shutting account, you will then be sent your last bill dated 1st March, which will include a credit for the extra weeks rental u were charged for on Feb invoice, so u have choice of cancelling DD so Feb invoice doesn't get paid coz its technically wrong, or leave DD in place, pay bill in full, then when March bill is sent u will see that we probably owe you money, so give us a call to arrange your refund, its meant to go back to your bank automatically, but to be honest mate it rarely does, so ring up and get someone to sort the refund out back to your bank or by cheque, the shop is never involved after the original sign-up, whoever u spoke to didn't have a clue.... so again soz

Any orange workers or customers out there help...
A while back like others we were getting free 0800/0808 calls etc and then they stopped it, so some of us called and got a 'freephone bundle' so to speak.
I then went onto make freephone calls at no charge for the next few months, however I have just recieved this months bill and its a good whack above what it normally is.
Yes the reason, being charged for 0800/0808 freephone numbers.
Is this a mistake (as this happened at the start previously) or do we have yet another change?

i registered an orange payg sim on 28/2 it was working fine untill the 7th. Since then I have had no phone service, my phone says "no access to network"
This seems to have coincided with my old number being ported accross. I have called orange 3 times and they have not helped.
This is the 3rd day I have been without service and have missed some very important calls.
Is there a UK technical support number I can call?0 -
my 1st post so be gentle. Hope someone can give me some advice on what to do. Had a phone call from a third party a few months ago (thought it was orange) wanting to reward me for being a loyal customer. Offered me free minutes which i declined, also a new phone which i said i didnt want. The lady on the phone said i didnt have to keep phone i could give it away to family/friend.Eventually i accepted the phone.A month ago i tried to cancel my contract as i have been with orange for over 12months.They said i could'nt cancel my contract as i've upgraded to a 18 month contract.I said i didnt, they said i did, through this third party.ORANGE DON'T WANT TO KNOW.
They gave me the number for the third party to sort myself. NUMBER DOESN'T EVEN WORK. I tried explaining to orange i was duped into this contract but they just dont want to know.:j :j :j0 -
Hi
Just wondering whether (or how easy it would be) I can get my PAYG upgraded on my existing SIM. I have an unlocked Nokia 3510i, which I bought off Ebay 3 years ago, and it's still going strong, however would like a phone with tri band and bluetooth facility. Would like another Nokia either 6280 or 6111, and then can pass on old phone to DS.
I've been with Orange for about 10 years first on contract with their "Plan Ahead" service, then moved to PAYG when that finished, I've had the same number for 8 years. I'm not a high rate user so don't qualify for a discount on an upgrade according to the Orange website, it would seem I would have to buy as a new customer then port my old number over. If I bought a phone on Orange network, I could swap the old SIM card into it couldn't I? (I've done it before), but then would be stuck with another SIM with credit on it as you can't seem to buy a PAYG phone without crediting the new number.
Would going into an Orange shop make this process easier? Or is there another way? We do have Orange BB, would this help? (although I don't want a contract phone).
Hope that makes sense. I just want a new phone, with my existing SIM on the Orange network, without spending more than £100 on a new one, and not buying one off Ebay!!

I'm on a 100 min/1000 text contract and my minimum term is up on the 28th.
I quite like Orange and I'm thinking of moving to the dolphin package but I was wondering if Orange tend to give you a better deal if you claim to want to leave like some companies?0 -
Hi
My 18 month contract runs out at the beginning of July.
My monthly bill varies between £50-£70.
Any Orange staff able to give me an idea of whether an early upgrade would be likely?
Thanks for your help0 -
whats the talkplan that your on
indication is that it will be early and a half decent banding (definatly over 3 out of 5)
sometimes if youve got a decent retentions deal already though can affect the banding and upgrade fee
usually early is 3months early, but in really high spend can be even earlier (we upgraded my mums in month 7 out of 12!!)Yes Your Dukeiness0 -

dont try it in store they cant do anything extra really do it over the phone and dont phone upgrades go to if your thinking of leaving orange
try and have another networks deal in mind when speaking to them e.g. o2 was doing long weekends which worked out to like 2600 mins in a month
if they do issue a pac or agree to cancel your contract you should still be able to ring up the next day and cancel the request and still take up any offer you were given
can depend though on what type of customer you are, if you were a very low level customer i wouldnt expect a decent retentions plan but would still definatly try and argue for oneYes Your Dukeiness0
