dont think there is a way unless you speak to CS
depending on the model of the phone, check if there is a text counter option, you can choose when to reset it so e.g. every billing month,
i would suggest looking at the dolphin £35 package which gives you unlimited texts, or adding on a text bundle you can get i think its 500 messages for £25pm (5p per text)

  • My partner has just received his 4th bill from Orange and it has jumped from an average £40 per month to £1,307ish and it appears that he has been charged for downloading 420MB data-previously x amount of data was included in his tariff and we were not notified that this was either a trial period or a limited offer. Obviously we are in a panic about this-what options do we have to challenge this charge?

    was it a new contract?
new contracts from retail at least had off peak data for free for the first 2 months and if it was a 3g phone then i believe it was 3months free
check your previous bills and post what it said with regards to the free data i.e. free orange world trial £0.00 or something, when we figure how you got it free itll be easier to say

Do you know how he’s managed to use that amount of data ? Has he, for instance, got his email setup on his handset ? with it checking for new mail every few minutes ?
I’ve seen that amount of data used in that circumstance before (even if there’s no mail waiting the phone has to send the username and password every time it checks, so if your checking every 10 minutes at a few k each time over a month that comes out to a heck of a lot of data…).

I took out an orange contract 13 months ago now. I paid one month in advance on my contract. I got a bill in for the last month of my contract which was paid for already. I phoned orange CS and they told me to pay the extra month in case I went over my monthly allowance and then if they owed me any money afterwards they'd pay me back. I didn't go over my allowance and thus phoned orange CS today to arrange for my refund. The chap informed me that I had to go back to the Orange shop where I got the phone originally and they would refund me the money and if they wouldn't then I was to phone CS again and then they'd arrange a refund. !!!!!! is this all about? I pay orange for my monthly contract therefore why can't they just give me my money back?
Once again - !!!!!! CS from orange!
  • Hey could someone answer me this question?

What is defined as a "new" customer? a customer which has never been an orange customer...someone who has never been an orange contract customer / someone who hasnt been an orange contract customer for x amount of months?

Have browsed through their T&C's but cannot find it...

I'm a contract customer but dont want an 18 month contract for renewing.

    Any suggestions?

Anyone can take out a new contract as a new customer, dosen't matter if you've already got one, you can take out a second (or third...). What you can't do is take out a new cotract and then port your old contract number to it (they call that a 'backdoor upgrade' and it's not allowed).
