Hi eco21,
I'm on a Orange price match tariff, matching the Three 750mins/35GBP offer.
I want to reduce my tariff to 25-odd GBP and get a better phone. Can I reduce my payments and still get 750mins?
My average bill is 45/month including Orange Care.0 -
I am trying to combine below Orange trade-in, referral and family offers.
1) £100 trade-in for Motorola fones.
2) Recommend a Friend, £50 for referrer and £25 for purchaser.
3) Orange Family. Buy 2nd fone and get 50% extra mins.
4) 1/2 price for 6 months on Talk Plan 200.
Does this work?. If I am the referrer and my friend buys 2 phones, then
My Friend gets, 300 mins every month on each contract.
Our cost is,
Line Rental = £270 * 2 phones = £540
Trade-In = £100 * 2 phones = £200 Credit
Trade-In phones = £10 * 2 phones = £20
Referral I get = £50 Credit
My Friend gets = £25 Credit
Sell 2 Motorola V3i/V3x phones = £250 Credit atleast
Total Cost = 540 - 200 + 20 - 50 - 25 - 250 = £35
Can we do better than this?.0 -
Would be grateful for advice. I'm on YP200 but am using an average of 130 odd minutes per month and sending approx 150+ texts. I've got the most limited photo bundle which I inevitably don't use and open access. I'm finding that my bills average out at £50 per moth which I find excessive. Can anybody recommend a suitable alternative on orange (apart from the cost I've got no desire to leave) or a couple of comparisons from other major mobile phone operators that I can quote to Orange when I renegotiate my new contract? I'd prefer to have a bit of leeway so if there's a deal which gives me slightly more minutes that I use on average and a few more texts then that would be perfect. Thank you very much in advance!0

short version
Can someone please help me with this...if you're on a pay monthly contract, and it has been well over a year, the phone gets stolen, but there's no orange care taken out. What do Orange do as regards replacement. Will they send out a sim card free of charge, with the old number on?
LONGER VERSION My OH is in a bit of a rut. He knows exactly where he dropped his phone, at a pertol car park (holder fell off his belt), he was driving from Northampton to London, when he realised he rang the phone, someone namely Hamish Patel, picked it up and said they had found the phone, said they would hand it in to Northampton Police Station, that was on Sunday gone. A reward was offered....BUT it's not happened, so I guess it would come under "stolen", now. What he's really gutted about is losing the numbers off his sim.....
I would really appreciate it if someone can spread some light on what orange do in a situation like this, cheers...0 -
He will have to pay £15+VAT for a replacement. But he can do two things which will get a replacement. Assuming he sign up on as 12 month not 18 month contract. He can sign up for an "UPGRADE", get a new phone (can give it to you / sell it) and they will give a new simcard with the phone. There will be no cost for this (as long as you choose a free handset) but you will sign up with a min 12/18month contract again. Second option like my friend did, is call up, ask for new simcard and when they say it cost £15+VAT, ask can't they give it for free (can't use phone without it = can't make/recieve calls = can't make money for them) if they say no, ask for disconnection (PAC) and than they MIGHT offer a simcard free (did in my friend case.)
Oh third option but in your case think not worth it is take out emergency orange care.0 -
got a question for you
I "bought" a nokia from E2save, but they emailed me a week later saying that Orange had withdrawn the Offpeak 1000 contract, so they would not be honouring the deal.
I know Orange still do offpeak1000, but are E2save still permitted,by orange, to sell the offpeak1000 tariff?
and if so, how do I get official confirmation?
I want to find out if E2save are lying to me.0 -
Eco21 - I have a question regarding the Orange 30 day cancellation period. I gave 30 days notice to terminate, but three weeks later I have asked for a PAC code. Orange tell me I have to pay another 30 days line rental from now because I am making a new termination request.
If I port out after 7 days, Orange say I will not get a refund for the 21 days I'm not connected - other MoneySavers say I will. Do you know? See this [thread=170093] thread[/thread] discussing the situation.
Thanks!0 -
didn't hear from you, are you on holiday?
I see that e2save are offering the offpeak1000 tariff again,
any idea who I should phone/email to get them to keep their contracts?0 -
Can somebody please give their opinions on the Your Group tarriff on this thread please
