MrJons: Friom what you are saying the daal you are on just now is very good, and I dsontt hink they will offer any more for you. You could get 10% line rental discount but would mean moving toa different tarriff, that would mean it'd be worse off than your selct 500
Getting the phone should be ok, and how much international calls do you make?0 -
Hi Dona,
I am on Orange contract and is about to finish in a week.
The problem is that I still have about 50 free minutes left but I cant find out, how many minutes do I have as after dialing 150, it says that this service is unavailable. I have been trying this for almost 4-5 days now. I have tried the orange online as well but to no vail.
Any other way of finding out, how many free minutes do I have before I end my contract.
ThanksI wanted to thankyou a million times but its a shame that I can press the button just once :T0 -

I am currently on Virgin EQ tariff with Orange, had phone about 4 years, wanted to upgrade, rang Orange they told me could just buy PAYG and switch sim card. THEY LIED. I have spent £50 on a new phone Motorola V220 and it won't accept my Orange sim card. I have spent over an hour on the phone with Orange in 9 separate phone calls but they will not budge - they say the EQ tariff is a contract and cannot be switched to PAYG phone - despite them telling me previously this was OK. Is there anything I can do - other than change my number and use the new sim card. I really like the idea of the EQ tariff as I just pay by direct debit whatever the monthly cost is and I don't ever have to worry about topping up. PLEASE HELP!0

If you have bought the Motorola V220 on Orange or it is an unlocked handset, you can simply put your old SIM into the new handset!
Don't believe everything that you are told by an Orange tubbie, as lots of them talk rubbish, due to being trained by that silly school boy!
If the new handset is locked to another network, you will have to pay to get it unlocked.

Thanks! I have tried just switching the sim but it says not recognised. Will now try and unlock - all I want to do is use an Orange sim card in a new Orange PAYG phone - how difficult can that be!0

Hi, sorry if this has been asked but tried a search and didnt find it.
Q: I have an Orange PAYG, can I transfer my number from my T-Mobile PAYG to it?
Thanks. :rudolf:0 -

 Sorry, I gave you incorrect information. Orange GID1 lock their PAYG handsets (SIM to Handset) which is why your contract SIM will not work in your PAYG handset.
When you get it unlocked, you will be fine using the old SIM in the new handset.
You should be able to get it unlocked for around £5 if you shop around - try to find an unlocker at a market stall etc.
