When I enquired of Orange about unlocking the phone, they said it would take a week or two to get the info from Nokia; this stretched when they realised I was abroad. A friend did it for me on a website.

I think you'll just have to be patient, unfortunately.
  • Dear eco21

Two contract SIMS are not working so called up the Orange Customer service and found there is a problem .
Requested them to send new ones , the representative taken all the details and at the end he said there is a service charge of 17 pounds + VAT for one SIM card.
So for two SIMS it will be come around 36 pounds , so please advise what should I do.

Already 6 months contact is over another 6 months is left .

    Regards

Thank you for all your previous comments.
Is the continuous updating of 30 free text still operating on new 24/7 sim.

Now when I text the word "text" to "1122" from my new orange PAYG 24/7 mobile phone, I still receive confirmation from orange within minutes but no free text are added to my account no longer how long I wait.

  • Hi Have peculiar question,

But I am sure someone would be able to help. As Orange customer service (business & personal) are crap.

I use to use Call barring or Call restriction on my own few years back. There is a 4 digit network code. (Not related to Phone or SIM). Its default set to 1111. I changed my pin and use to use it a lot. But for some reason i stopped using it & forgot my PIN. I have called Orange to reset this password for me. But they turn around and tell me their is no such thing as call barring.

It drives me insane when I hear someone tell me that it cant be done. The service still works as my corporate account call barring pin is still set to default. Orange advertise this on their website. Whereas call centre rep & technical team (who certain need to update their skill) say the service is no longer used.

    here is the link: http://web.orange.co.uk/yourphone/spvc500/manageyourcalls/callbarring/product.html?menu=yourorange.yourphone.spvc500.manageyourcalls.callbarring

Its about SPV C500 but all phones have this menu.

Eco21 - Do you know anyone in technical who can reset this 4 digit pin for me. I would really appreciate it. Please PM me.

    Thanks
    Razor

    Any better deals out there?

Has any one seen any better deals than the one I currently have as my contract is up for renewal in a couple of weeks. I am currently with Orange and pay £27 per month. For that I get 60 minutes any time any network and 120 texts per month. Is there anything out there to save my some much needed money? I would like to stay with Orange but would change to save some cash. Karen

    Karen,
The deal I was looking at was Your Plan 120 (120 minutes x-network anytime) for £25/month, with no texts, but you could add a text bundle on for £2/30 texts.
Also if you go through CPW you can get your line rental (via cashback redemption) at £4.99/month with a new Nokia 6610i.
    Hope this helps.

hi guys wondering if anyone knows of a better orange or any other network deal.
I've been with orange almost 2 years now on contract.
I upgraded last year, got myself a new samsung d500 with 200 x-net mins and bartered for 500 free sms monthly. I've since added 15MMS bundle a month and pay ~35.00 incl VAT monthly.
Ideally I'd like a new phone with more minutes and poss less texts if that gets the cost slightly down or at least gives me more value.

I took the Nokia 6230 with OVP plan (200 mins for £30) on May from carphonewarehouse.

What is the best plan available for me, if I need to upgrade to 300 mins or 400 mins?.
There are direct plans available for £40 with 500 mins, but I think it is only for online customers.
  • Raj,

    OVP o2 400 is £40/month or OVP Voda 500 for £50/month or Premier 600 at £55/month.
