  • Hi Echo

Just noticed that one guy he combined two promotions together, is that allowed?

He combined the student offer promotion (free texts) with 6months half price line rental...is that available to all students?

Just last week (8 days ago) i bought a orange contract from a orange store: free samsung Z500, YP120 (6 months half price @ £12.50/month) + £100 credit for trade-in phone (which I am waiting still to go into my bill).

My question is, can I ring orange and ask them that I want the student offer to be included into my contract as I am a student? Will all other things stay as they are ie 6month half price, £100 credit for phone trade-in? And also as I bought the phone from an orange store can I do this over the phone or will I have to got the store?

What is the student offer excatly? Whats this £50 offered for students.....

    Thanks for your time

paul: cracking post, think every Orange customer should get onto Orange and get an email sent off. If possible could you post a draft of your letter, only so indiviuals know what to write. Word for word is a bad move but changing the email but still have the main info would be needed.

scanner: I read Karnam post and thought like you, he got two promotions, but this is not allowed and not the case. I believe at rententions, they gave him £75 credit which equates to 6 months half price and still has the student deal. Wouldnt be allowed to half the two promotions at once. Hope karnam can clear this up for us butt hink thats the case.

eco1, the o2 200 tariff always has 200mins and 100 txt, this is not a 3 month offer m8. but on orange it shows as 200mins and 50xt for OVP o2 200.

  • Basically i said that as they had changed their prices i would like to cancel my contract as it breaks the terms and conditions. As you can see they said because they are adding the freephone bundle on then i cant cancel because my contract is effectivly the same

    Regards

O2 200 used to only be 50 texts, assume Orange haven't updated their OVP pages/offers yet(they often take their time over matching tariffs exactly, if even at all)

You're right Eco. Apart from the fact that I'm female!

I rang and told them what sort of thing I could get as a 'New student account' and the guy worked out that I would be saving £75 with the half price line rental, he said he couldn't put two promotions on my account with an upgrade, so instead he credited my account with the £75 saving I would have got. I probably should have also mentioned that I would have got the £50 credit as a student as well, but I completely forgot (stupid me not being totally prepared!!) so I only got £75 pounds credit, rather than 75+50=125 credit.

Still I think I did pretty amazingly! Got my Lovely new Black V3 today :D

Eco21, is bonus top up available only with the 24/7 same rates PAYG plan or also on the old talk and save? Also do the cost of bundles bought count towards the bonus top up?

My sister is being screwed by Orange.

It says quitely clearly that she can get the Student Package with the OffPeak tariff on the website... and yet when she calls to get them to change her package, the woman on the phone insists the Student thing can only be done to Anytime 200 or above and tried to get my sister to agree to that on a new 18 month contract with no upgrade. After speaking to her about her own company's T&Cs, the woman the offered to put Student on the Off Peak Tariff but only on a 2year contract and again without upgrading my sister's handset.

My sister is now seriously consdering leaving Orange and is looking at student packages elsewhere. Hopefully this will prompt Orange to actually offer her the package that she wanted... otherwise they're going to lose a customer.

It seems so sporadic, I tend to get quite decent guys fighting to keep me on Orange, and yet my sister who's monthly bill is twice what mine is (hers is normally around 50-60pounds) gets horrible women on the phone. This is the second time she's come across a brick wall (first time she was told she'd have to PAY for a PAC code) and all I've told her is keep trying, or at worst just leave when her contract expires in 2 months.

This is the 2nd year she's tried to get the Student Package, and the second year she's been told her can't get it. First time she was told they don't 'do' the student pack on telesales which was direct. What a load of crap... I got the student package and it says quite clearly on t&c that Student package is available online, through orange shops (where my sister was again told no they dont 'do' them in the shops) and through telesales. She comes across a brick wall whenever she tries to get her student package.

    eco21. Appreciate the help you're giving :)

I was just wondering if Orange still offer the referal service. i.e where they credit yours and a friends account with £50 each. Also do they offer £50 credit for a returned phone? Are they both available on the website or is it instore only?

I'm assuming the credit can only be used towards calls/text etc outside of the inclusive minutes rather than debiting it against the line rental. I'm just trying to get the student deal for as cheap as i can as i havent seen any cashback offers on these tariffs.

    Thanks
