The delivery guys were lovely too. All in all, I was really pleased with them.
Hope this helps.:beer:0 -

Shakespeare Beds are the same company as the Birmingham Kozee Sleep, rather than the better Dewsbury Kozeesleep (Kozeesleeep split after a family bust up). I have been told that the quality from the Birmingham Kozee Sleep (which includes Dorlux and Sleepvendor) isn't up to the same standard as the origninal Kozeesleep in Dewsbury. Although my source is reliable, I haven't compared them myself.
I've had a quick google for the bed, and it appears to be a basic open coil sprung firm mattress. I'd say that £120 is about right if it includes delivery, but it isn't a huge saving.0 -
Is Dorlux a recent acquisition by Kozee Sleep? You said they were having problems (I think).0

Yes. From the word on the street the owner of Kozee Sleep (Birmingham) is the brother of the owner of Dorlux. And the owner of Kozee Sleep bought Dorlux out within two hours of the bankrupcy hearing.0 -
Hi Tim
Can you give me the benefit of your advice please?
I'm currently on an open spring double mattress (firm) which has served me well for two decades (!), but the springs are now breaking through (!).
I'm looking for a replacement mattress without going overboard on costs. Since I've been happy on an open sprung mattress, I'm not convinced I need to pay the extra cost to go on to pocket sprung. And I'm also not convinced I would need a layer of memory foam on top, as I hate being hot at night. So I'm thinking of going just for another open sprung firm mattress but upgrading to a king size (it's resting on a king-size futon base anyway).
I've come across these mattresses for sale on M&S website and wondered whether you thought they are good value? (if so, I will go to the store to test them for firmness and comfort).
I'm most interested in the M100 (£159), which is straight open spring, but thought I'd also test the F100 (£319) which seems to be the same but with a layer of coolmax memory foam. Are these a good price?

My only worry is that they seem to be medium tension rather than firm. (the coil count they give on the website is not for the king size, but double I think, as they say elsewhere "spring count varies depending on mattress size").
If it's worth going in to test them. I thought I'd see what the pocket sprung ones are like too. They have a firm one for £479 which sounds good but seems a bit pricey (M400):

the store did say it was the lower end of their better mattresses for double beds, it's a long standing local company, the bed is a friendship mill shaker bed 4' with a slatted base, I wanted one from a store to make sure I got it this weekI am a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Wales, Small Biz MoneySaving, In My Home (includes DIY) MoneySaving, and Old style MoneySaving boards.
