In case it helps anyone, I was offered the following:
Line rental
M size BB
XL TV + Sky Sports
Free evening/ weekend phone
V + Box free
Free fitting
£58 per month (£5 extra for additional box)
I'm not sure if thats good but thats what I was offered0 -
I have a BT line already. I don't use the NTL phone line but have hung onto it as it gave better discounts for broadband. So I have no problem going with O2.
Unfortunately no 3 months free offer on at the moment. I would get £50 cashback from Quidco as I would just take their base package as I can only get 7Mb as a maximum. Would probably work out about £40 for the year. I know I wouldn't get Virgin down to that but I may go for it still at £10pm.
I'm very serious. I've had speed issues recently where every evening I was getting from 1.5Mb to 3Mb on my 20Mb service. Although this is suppoed to be fixed all that has happened is that my slow time has moved from after 7pm to after 10pm.
Thanks for your help.
Hi, the "serious" quote wasn't aimed at you at all. It was just a general mention for people who are ringing up to get a better deal rather than actually considering quitting.
O2 have had the offer on and off for the last 3-4 months so I was going to wait and see if it came back (and quidco was £25 higher for each package). I've a t-mobile mobile bb dongle with over a month of credit so was going to use that if needed.
To be honest I fancied staying with VM but someone a few pages back asked me why I'd pay more for the same or less and I had to agree with them.0 -

It's ok - I realised that and agree with you.O2 have had the offer on and off for the last 3-4 months so I was going to wait and see if it came back (and quidco was £25 higher for each package). I've a t-mobile mobile bb dongle with over a month of credit so was going to use that if needed.
I thought I might wait and see if it came back after the New Year.To be honest I fancied staying with VM but someone a few pages back asked me why I'd pay more for the same or less and I had to agree with them.
I have to agree with it too. I'm currently paying Virgin £31pm for a phone I never use and a 20Mb service which I often don't get. As I already have my BT line I can change to O2 and only pay £7.34.
Main reason I'm looking at it now is that my younger son recently moved out. When he and his brother stayed at home the speed was important but now it's not so I might as well cut my costs.0 -
Finally got a decent offer (IMHO) phone with eve/weekend calls and 10 meg BB for £10pm. It is about what I could have got BT and O2 bb for (after offers and cashback) but saves me the hassle of switching so I'm happy with that.
That is a blinding good deal. I negotiated £11/month for just 2meg (small) service 6 months ago, but the !!!!!!s have reneged and have started charging me £16/month from January. Will be putting a complaint in as I verified the details of the deal 3 times before I put the phone down. Just be careful as sometimes the retention reps will tell porkies to get the sale (and commission), this has happened twice now, once with my sister and now with me.0 -
My contract is about to end I currently have.
Line Rental: £11
TV (M): Free
V+: £5
20meg Broadband: £20
XL Phone: £7.95
I am really looking to upgrade to triple XL for around £45- £55 a month (Including Line Rental) Do you think this would be possible to negotiate?
Thanks0 -
Wow just had a frustrating call to Virgin about upgrading our broadband services to include TV and Phoneline.
They have offered TV L, Phone M and Broadband L for £32.50 with 2 months free BB & TV plus £35 installation charge.
Not exactly an amazing deal but works out about the same as what I'm paying at the moment for BB & Phone.
Anyone have a similar package, how much do you pay?0 -

I've decided to cancel all my Virgin Media services as they wouldn't offer me any where as good deals some of you guys got, I disconnect on the 11th and I'm moving my broadband to O2 which works out free for a year after cashback!
When demanding them to cancel my services they wouldn't come up with any better offers and I haven't received any calls back from them.
Even telling them about the excellent O2 broadband offer on at the moment with Quidco wouldn't make them budge. Must of spoke to about 10 different retentions operaters over the last month and none heard of £8.50 or £10 a month for 10mbit0 -
I rang retentions and got offered 10MB BB with Phone Evenings and Weekends for £19.95 on an 18 month contract; not a good deal so I thought I'd give them a ring back and speak to someone different.
I would like to try o2 BB but I don't think I would get the same download speed as I am getting on Virgin.0 -
Currently getting:
Virgin BB L, TV XL & Calls evening & weekend for £38 (older Sky retention deal)
Just quoted Talk Talk deal (Pro), which they wouldn't match due to line speed differences with BT, but got a wireless N router and a free re-installation for the trouble!0
