Virgin Media Retention thread

Ratty I've been with them for a few years and have ALWAYS got a deal - just
call retentions and ask to cancel - they will offer you an unbeatable deal as they cannot afford to lose any more customers
I've just done that - been an NTL/Virgin customer for 13 years. They couldn't match the deal that I can get with BT and O2. Disconnection booked for 30 days from now.0 -
what is BT/02 offering.... ?Use your judgement, and above all, be honest with yourself.I walk with the world & the world walks with me!I don't make bad choices!!! Other people just fail to see my GENIUS !!!!0

Hi
I currently pay £39.45 (including line rental) for the below package:
BB: 10mb
Phone: Talk unlimited
TV: XL
Paperless billing
I am thinking of adding their £10 mobile deal to the package and am wondering what folk are paying for similar.
Could addition of the mobile force a renegotiation of my charges? For better or worse (although ideally better)?
Thanks
Lester
When I added on the mobile (£8.50 deal for already being a Virgin customer) they didn't add it on to the 'package' as it gets billed separately which is a bit annoying.
Also with the charges, I currently pay £39.50 for:
XL tv
10mb broadband
Cheapest phone package (ie weekends free)
Paperless billing/DD payments
but I think from having a quick look the other day that I am paying more than what I would be on a new contract after the promo months end, so I need to give them a call as I don't think that is fair...0 -
what is BT/02 offering.... ?
With a BT line at £11.54 for Evening & Weekend calls plus £7.50 for 8Mb BB it makes a total of £19.04. Best offer from Virgin for the same package would have been £23 something and that didn't include Caller Display or 0845/0870 numbers.
I am also getting £75 cashback for the O2 BB which makes the deal for one year £11.54 - I didn't even mention the £75 cashback as they couldn't even get close to the deal without it.0 -

With my sort of luck they would probably cancel anyway. Without offering me a deal0 -

Hmm can't see why they would be different - snap my arm off each time but I can be quite persuasive (must be my job !)
Everyone else - can't compare chalk with cheese - £39 for Line rental, TV AND 50MB Broadband ??? Who else can offer this - closest would be UP TO 8MB Broadband !!!If you don't have 'owt important to say then don't say 'owt ...0 -

Plenty now doing up to 24Mb and actually getting it too.
As to 50Mb there are loads of complaints about the 50Mb service on the cable forum.
With my 20Mb service I was getting 10.5Mb every evening due to "uber utilisation" problems!0 -

"uber utilisation" is from the unique Virgin dictionary and means THROTTLING.
Come on Virgin say it as it is....Its Speed throttling:mad:
Virgin are quite happy to promote and offer high speeds and welcome you to the world of high speed data as long as you don't actually use them as they are supposed to be.0 -
Hi all,
I need some advise. I am currently paying £30 for :
M TV with V+
L Phone (free evening and w/end calls)
L Broadband
paperless billing.
My V+ box was installed for free last year.
My contract is coming to an end next month. Just spoken to retentions to see if I can get a better deal but they are saying £30 is the cheapest that they can offer me.
Does anyone know is this is true and, if it isn't, what I should say to them to get a better deal ?
Thanks0 -
I currently have Virgin phone and BB if I wanted to switch to o2 phone and BB would I just ring o2 up to register and they will handle everything with Virgin?0
